The United States was built on genocidal policies against the indigenous people of America. On this foundation, it is clear that the American Government’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide was simply a politically strategic act, rather than a genuine recognition of the atrocities of 1915.

Six years ago today marks the beginning of a turning point for our Homeland. Azeri attacks triggered the 44 day war of Artsakh. Our martyrs gave their last breath so that Artsakh could live on and with every breath of our martyrs, Artsakh lives. Artsakh lives through our continuous struggle as we refuse to suffocate in the chokehold of each dictatorship and regime that works to stifle our people. Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, nor any other global force will ever be enough to uproot the Armenian people from their indigenous land, from Western Armenia to Nakhichevan to Javakhk to Artsakh.

On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan launched a large scale attack on the indigenous Armenians of Artsakh. Their attack involved the utilization of illegal weapons like white phosphorus, seen as a weapon of eco terrorism. Since then, Azerbaijan has ethnically cleansed Artsakh of its 150,000 Armenians from Shushi, Stepanakert, Martakert, Martuni, Hadrut, Shahumyan, and Kashatagh. Today, Azerbaijan celebrates Azerbaijan Remembrance Day, commemorating their genocide of indigenous Armenians, while F1 fans party in the country.

Azerbaijan appeals to the West through publicity stunts attempting to showcase Azeri “history” and “culture.” Do western audiences truly believe that Azerbaijan is a climate conscious, peaceful country with rich history? It is important to highlight that through the popstars and race cars, the public sees Azerbaijan’s genocidal reality. Azerbaijan is a terrorist country built on blood and oil, and the west must not allow them to wash this reputation off with lies.

The Republic of Armenia was declared free from the Soviet Union on September 21, 1991 with the assertion that the Armenian people have the right to a self governing, independent, and united nation. We continue to fight for these values today, as global powers and powers in our very own government work against the rights of our people.

On September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan forcefully pushed out 120,000 indigenous Armenians from Artsakh. For the first time in over 5,000 years, Artsakh was completely depopulated of Armenians. 23 political prisoners are still held captive in Baku to this day, with no effort from the Pashinyan’s government to set them free. Azerbaijan is a terrorist state, and the Armenian government is its chief enabler. Free Artsakh, Free our POWs, and Free Armenia from the shackles of the Pashinyan regime.
