Every September is an especially busy time for our College Consultation Team. As families begin thinking about their children’s next stage of education, these are some of the most common questions we hear from parents.
The truth is, if families wait until the final one or two years of high school to start asking these questions, they may have already missed valuable opportunities to build meaningful experiences over time.
We have worked with many students who were not initially aware of their full potential. With the right training, guidance, and opportunities, many went on to gain admission to Ivy League universities and other renowned institutions.
At the same time, most students and families are not fully aware of what competitive college applications require—or how to strategically prepare for them. Without proper planning, valuable time can be lost, along with opportunities that cannot easily be recreated later.
That is why we encourage families:
Don’t wait until college applications to start “building a résumé.”

Over the years, we have supported students in using their musical talent and specialized training as part of their journey to renowned universities and music institutions, including Stanford, Yale, Cornell, Juilliard, Berklee, and Colburn.
But what matters most to us has never been simply where a student ultimately receives an acceptance letter.
We want students to develop something much more lasting along the way:
