Last week’s Global Phil Music Festival was filled with moments of artistry, connection, and inspiration. One of the highlights was an unforgettable masterclass led by Dr. Peter Fang , Artistic Director of The Royal Foundation of Music and Arts. His insight, passion, and dedication to nurturing musicians brought a truly meaningful energy to the experience and left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.

A true standout from last weekend’s Global Phil Music Festival was the masterclass with Dr. Vanessa Fadial. As a professor at Colburn, Dr. Fadial’s wisdom, generosity, and deep love for music created an inspiring experience that resonated far beyond the students in the room.

As we celebrate Independence Day, we’re delighted to share a special throwback to Zlatomir Fung’s (Zlatomir Fung)unforgettable all-American composers recital at Carnegie Hall last March 2026, presented in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

Our 2026 January and March Festivals featured three gala concerts at Carnegie Hall (Carnegie Hall), along with masterclasses and private lessons led by distinguished Juilliard (The Juilliard School) faculty. Together, these events welcomed 96 talented participants and more than 600 audience members, creating an inspiring celebration of music and education.

🎼 Global Philharmonic Competition Finals Successfully Conclude in Los Angeles

The Finals of the Global Philharmonic Competition were recently held at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, bringing together an outstanding group of young musicians from a broad range of disciplines.

Over the years, Global Philharmonic has provided a platform for young musicians to showcase their artistry, engage in meaningful musical exchange, and pursue continued artistic development. The competition has welcomed distinguished faculty members from renowned institutions, including the Colburn School and the The Juilliard School, to serve on its jury panels.

Through its competition, festival programs, masterclasses, and performance opportunities, Global Philharmonic continues to support emerging artists in gaining valuable musical and professional experience.

This year’s competition attracted an exceptionally strong field of participants, with more than one hundred finalists advancing across a wide range of disciplines, including voice, woodwinds, strings, chamber music, and piano.

Attention now turns to the upcoming Global Phil Music Festival this August.
Outstanding prize winners from this year’s competition will be invited to perform at the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The performance will provide these young artists with an opportunity to share their musicianship with a wider audience in one of Los Angeles’s most celebrated concert venues.

The August festival will also feature an exciting series of educational programs led by department chair and faculty from the Colburn School, alongside artists from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Participants will have the opportunity to attend masterclasses, lectures, workshops, and private lessons while engaging with leading performers and educators in the field.

We look forward to welcoming this year’s distinguished award recipients to Los Angeles in August and celebrating their continued artistic growth and achievements.

Global Philharmonic Music Competition – Los Angeles Finals

The Los Angeles Finals of the Global Philharmonic Music Competition will officially open on June 14at the Colburn School.

All competition winners will participate in the Global Philharmonic Music Festival and Concert series that takes place August 13–15 at the Colburn School and Walt Disney Concert Hall, featuring performances by distinguished artists and emerging talents from across the globe.

We look forward to welcoming exceptional musicians from around the world and celebrating the power of music together in Los Angeles.

🎼 World Stage Tour Music Competition 2026 Successfully Concludes

The 2026 World Stage Tour Music Competition has successfully concluded.

The New York Division was held at the National Opera Center, while the Los Angeles Division took place at The Colburn School. We extend our sincere gratitude to our distinguished jury members and artistic advisors from The Juilliard School, The Colburn School, the New York Philharmonic, and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, whose expertise and dedication contributed greatly to the success of this year’s competition.

With more than 1000 participants joining both the live and global online divisions, the competition showcased an exceptional level of artistry and musicianship. The outstanding performances presented throughout the event were truly inspiring. Given the high level of competition, we warmly congratulate all prize winners and commend every participant for their dedication, hard work, and artistic achievement.

We are excited to welcome our laureates to the Winners’ Concert at Sanders Theatre in February 2027, with additional masterclasses and lectures led by faculty from Harvard University and New England Conservatory.

Special thanks to our distinguished jury and artistic leadership team: Henry Gronnier, Micah Yui, Hui Wu, Anthony Cardella, Henry Chen, Andrew Hsu, Claire Kim, En Chi Cheng, and Peter Fang.

We also extend our gratitude to all participants, teachers, parents, and partners for making this international celebration of musical excellence possible.
