DID YOU KNOW…
Today is Bill of Rights Day!
From The American Presidency Project’s Proclamation 10323 (2021) shared to Census.gov, “On December 15, 1791, three-fourths of the existing State legislatures ratified the first 10 Amendments of the Constitution—the Bill of Rights. These Amendments protect some of the most indispensable rights and liberties that define us as Americans. Though we have often struggled to live up to the promises they contain, 230 years after the ratification of the Bill of Rights, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms remains at the center of our democracy.”
To help children learn about the Bill of Rights while supporting our Youth Activities Program, Patriotism Through Literacy, check out the picture book A Kids Guide to America’s Bill of Rights by Kathleen Krull at the link below, along with our list of recommended reads behind MALTA login under Member Resources.
You can donate these titles to local schools or shelters, read them to children at local libraries or even gift them to the kids in your life this Christmas or Hanukkah!
