Labette Center for Mental Health Services LCMHS is a licensed community mental health center serving Labette County, Kansas. We are a not-for- Labette Center opened in 1979 with a three-person staff.

As demand for services has grown, the Center has added programs and staff to meet the needs of Labette County citizens. Currently there are over 60 full and part-time staff members employed at Labette Center. Mission: To create hope and opportunities for life change by providing education, support, consultation, and therapeutic behavioral health services to the people and communities of Labette County. Vision: To provide the highest quality of comprehensive services to empower the people and communities of Labette County. We envision fulfilling and meaningful lives for those we serve.

This week is the Association of Community Mental Health Centers of Kansas, Inc. annual conference! Several of Labette Center's staff members are attending this year's conference, including Asha Patel, Financial Director, Misti Mustain, CCBHC Director, Jessica Ramsey, CBS Director, Cendie Shelton, therapist, Emily Eagle, LMLP, therapist and Tonya Kendrick, Nurse Practioner! So far, the week has been filled with amazing speakers and educational programs, and there is still more to come!

As National Recovery Month comes to an end, we want to celebrate all of the "helpers" in the community who make the decision to join us in supporting individuals who may be dealing with a mental health challenge or crisis. Labette Center offers a variety of trainings to help those in our community learn how to help be helpers! Check out a full list of trainings we offer and join others in our community who have learned valuable skills and resources!

QPR: Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) is a su***de prevention training that teaches individuals how to recognize the warning signs of su***de crisis and how to intervene effectively. This course is provided in a short 1–2-hour training. QPR is an evidence-based program. For more information on QPR click here.

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID: Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an interactive public education program that is designed to provide individuals how to identify, understand and respond to signs of a mental illness and/or substance use disorder. It is an internationally recognized program that follows evidence-based practices and fidelity standards. This one-day course is provided in a variety of formats. ASIST: A two day in person workshop that provides participants with the tools to skills and readiness to reach in and start a conversation with a person that may have thoughts of su***de. ASIST is an evidence-based practice that follows fidelity standards. For more information click here.

Labette Center would like to welcome Diamond Bogle! Diamond began working at Labette Center on September 22nd as a case manager in the adult services program. Diamond graduated from Labette County High School before going on to the University of Arkansas where she acquired a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice/sociology with undergraduate studies in psychology. Diamond enjoys the country life of living on a farm, reading, arts and crafts, and spending time with her pet bunny, Binks. Welcome to Labette Center Diamond!
