This month, we’re continuing to shine a light on our amazing award categories! To be eligible, teams must have at least five members registered for qualifying events.

We’re thrilled to highlight our High School and Athletic Team Awards for 2k and 5k participants! These awards honor the incredible achievements of high school athletic teams within the Tucker Community Foundation service region.

Our goal? To enhance sports facilities, provide essential equipment, and fund training programs for our student-athletes. Winners will receive financial support and recognition at our awards ceremony, celebrating their contributions to local sports! 🏆

We're committed to supporting our local student-athletes and helping them thrive both academically and athletically. By investing in our youth, we aim to build a stronger, healthier community for the future. ❤️

This week, we are thrilled to highlight the individual and team awards for our amazing 2k participants! Remember, to be eligible for these fantastic awards, teams must have at least five members registered for qualifying events.

🏅Wellness Award: Participate in our August step-tracking challenge! All step-challenge log sheets must be received or postmarked by September 1.
🏅Best Walking Team Photo: Capture the spirit of the race by snapping the best team photo along the 2k course!
🏅Best Team Costume: Get creative and showcase your team! We want to see visually striking costumes that represent your mission.
🏅Unsung Hero Award: Team Captains can nominate a team member who has gone above and beyond in fundraising and raising awareness. Nomination forms are due by September 1.
🏅Mystery Award: A little surprise awaits! This award will be kept secret until the ceremony, and everyone registered for the in-person 2k walk has a chance to win it. Stay tuned for the fun!

🏃‍♀️🥳 Exciting news! Registration for Run For It is NOW OPEN! 🎉👟

Head over to https://runsignup.com/Race/WV/Davis/RunForIt to register your team and start raising funds for a great cause!

🗓️Important Dates to Remember:
- Team captains, make sure to register all teams by August 31.
- Individual race participants need to register by September 20.
- Online registration closes on September 20.
- In-person registration will be available on September 25 and 26 at the Davis Fire Hall.

Join us on September 26 during the Leaf Peepers Festival in beautiful Davis, WV, for a day of fun and fundraising! Since its inception in 2007, Run For It has fostered healthy activities while supporting nonprofit organizations and charities across our ten-county service area.

Remember, every dollar raised during the six-month fundraising campaign directly benefits your chosen causes! This program supports various initiatives in arts, animal welfare, education, and community improvement, while also providing a fantastic networking opportunity for organizations.

🌟 Exciting news for all participants of the upcoming event! 🌟

As we get closer to race day, here's what you need to know to ensure a fantastic experience for everyone involved:

🚩Team Captains: Remember, you must complete your team registrations by August 31! While you'll lead the charge in organizing your groups, don’t forget that individual participants have until September 20 to sign up online. This is a great opportunity to choose the team or cause you want to support, creating a fun and competitive atmosphere!

📋Event Rules:
✅Teams must have at least 5 members registered to qualify for team awards – and no team can represent multiple causes.
✅Switching from the 2k to the 5k on race day is not allowed, but if you're in the 5k, you can switch to the 2k by informing the event staff before the race starts.
✅Remember, the 2k is a walking event only – running is not permitted.
✅Kids aged 5 and under registered for the 5k will get a non-chipped bib.
✅The only wheeled transportation allowed on the course is wheelchairs and strollers.
✅Dogs are welcome on a short leash (owners must clean up!), but they need to start at the back of the pack to avoid disqualification.
✅No swapping or transferring bibs – it will result in disqualification!
