Join us today (December 2) for the annual Parrottsville Christmas Parade. This year’s grand marshal will be George Barton. George is originally from Northwest, Connecticut, but moved to Dandridge in 2001 and later moved to Parrottsville where he built a home. George works at Rural Medical Services as CEO, after previously leading federally qualified health centers as CEO in Massachusetts, New York, Iowa, and Pennsylvania. In addition, George has served on multiple committees in Washington DC and has worked as a consultant with health centers across the country and with the health resource service administration in DC. Locally George serves on the Cocke county Partnership Back/economic development board, the Cocke County opioid task force, and is a member of the Cocke County recreation board. George is a member of the Kiwanis and a Parrottsville Ruitan Clubs. Additionally, George is a coach for Parrottsville Football , Parrottsville Middle School Baseball, and has coached Little League at Newport city Park.
