🎄A Winter Blessing Made Possible by Community ❄️. Your generosity helped a mother and her children stay safely housed this winter. Thanks to your donation, we provided emergency rent assistance, preventing displacement and bringing relief, reassurance, and peace during a critical moment.

🎄We're deeply grateful for your support, which protected a family and preserved dignity. 🙏🏽Thank you for making a meaningful difference this season.

The Lakota Women Initiative, based on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation, expresses profound gratitude to Barbara Page for championing the Lakota Bazaar at the Albany County Fairgrounds, a triumph that spotlighted a food and clothing drive and silent auction, yielding remarkable support for our cause.

We were honored to present our knowledge and attend the ASES 2025 Conference and connect with so many amazing people who are leading powerful renewable energy projects across the country. It was inspiring to see the innovative work happening everywhere — from solar and wind to community-led sustainability efforts — and to meet the great leaders making it happen.

The Lakota Women Initiative may be small and just starting out, but we’re here, keeping it real and committed to bringing our vision to life. Our roots run deep, and our mission is grounded in community, culture, and resilience.

As we move forward with our upcoming projects, we’ll keep you posted. Thank you to everyone who shared their time, knowledge, and encouragement — your work fuels our determination to keep pushing for a clean, just energy future.

Our mission at Lakota Women Initiative is guided by an unwavering prayer and a steadfast plan rooted in ancestral wisdom. While government grants may shift and redirect funding, they cannot alter our sacred purpose for empowerment, cultural revival, and economic independence. Every setback strengthens our resolve, and our commitment remains constant.

I'm excited to introduce the Lakota Women Initiative (LWI), a nonprofit close to my heart, located on the ancestral homelands of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate, South Dakota, dedicated to empowering Native communities through sustainability and cultural preservation.

Our mission is to create opportunities for self-sufficiency and growth by building sustainable homes, promoting renewable energy, and preserving Lakota culture. By investing in these areas, we aim to provide long-term solutions that honor our heritage and benefit future generations.

Why It Matters: Native communities face unique challenges, and LWI is here to make a difference by equipping individuals and families with the tools and knowledge to thrive sustainably and culturally grounded.

I’d love your support in spreading the word, connecting with like-minded individuals, or contributing to this important cause. Together, we can create a brighter, more sustainable future for Native communities.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the Lakota Women Initiative. Your support means the world to us and to the communities we serve. Together, we can create meaningful change.
