The 2019 COVID pandemic had caused a severe financial hardship for the Parma VFW Post 1974 that they haven't been able to fully recover from. During the pandemic they lost many members due to illness and because of those losses they had to install a brand new board of officers.

I'm reaching out to you to see if you would like to help in any of these ways:

*Financial Donations in any amount always help.

* They currently are having their "Firebase Flamingo Event".

That started today November 20th at 12 noon and it will go till November 27th 3pm or until the post has raised their go fund me goal of $20,000.

Veterans will be staying in a tent (the tent in the pics posted) outside the post 24/7 from November 20th till the 27th in efforts to raise money towards their go fund me goal. The idea is to help get these veterans "home" before the holidays by helping them reach their financial goal.

*There is also a Pick 3 raffle ticket being sold till November 30th because the drawing is for the month of December- they are $5 per ticket .
They are picked when the Ohio lotto is picked in the evening if you get a straight with your number you will receive a $40 payout

You can donate or purchase tickets through their cashapp, PayPal, or venmo. If you don't use any of those and still want to donate or purchase tickets dm or text me and we will find a way.

With our leftover candy from our successful Trunk or Treat and some more candy donations from the All American Drive Thru in Parma, Ohio we just dropped off 73 candy bags to the Louis Stokes VA Medical center for the residents of the Long Term Spinal Cord Injury Unit and their nurse/support staff and to the veterans on the Acute Spinal Cord Injury Unit. It's a good day!

We finally were able to collect the pics from our friends from the Trunk or Treat event to post. We had a great turn out. A Special thank you to all the Post members ,Auxiliary members and their families that helped with the event. Thank you to Jordan from Mission BBQ in Parma for coming out and passing candy with us and thank you to Bin Bath and Kevin Kussmaul for donating some candy for the event. The veterans that came from the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center Long Term Spinal Cord Injury Unit had a blast helping us pass out candy to the kids and the kids had fun playing games and getting candy. Overall this was a very successful event and we look forward to hosting more in the future.

For those who have reached out on how they can donate or help, first donations are always welcome but not required to attend this event.

We'll have car trunks set up outside passing candy and I'm in the process of getting games for the kids to play inside .

Trunk or Treat
October 22 nd 1 - 4pm

Save the date and come on down to see us!!

We will have designated Trunks in the parking lot passing out candy.

Games in the Hall for all the kids and kids at heart to play.

The Post will be selling raffle tickets also so if you're interested in purchasing some please bring Cash.

Also Donations are always welcome but not required to come to this event. If you would like to make a donation just contact me or the Post.

This event is FREE and open to the public.
