Today’s sermon asked the question: Who do you say I am? This is the question Jesus asked his disciples. Jesus teaches us to love, not judge. To proclaim our faith with actions more than words.

Today at North Parma we prayed over the school supplies for the kids who would be receiving them.
Pastor Luis talked about how Jesus was stunned by the Canaanite woman’s faith. We need to deepen our faith to stun Jesus!
We were called to this place as members of God’s family. Now we head out to discover strangers are but siblings of Jesus, like us.

We didn’t announce it in church, but if you want to donate backpacks for local kids, next Sunday, August 16 is the deadline. We will be blessing them during the service.

Our service today centered on us getting out of the boat and leaving our comfort zones. After all, Jesus left the boat of glory in heaven to come save us. Let us remember our calling to be God’s presence in every moment wherever we go.

The sermon today centered on Jacob - his mistakes and missteps - but God was with him, blessing him in spite of it all. Jacob wrestled with God and was still blessed. Jesus calls us to follow into all the broken places to bring hope. Here, as we hesitate to go where we are needed, the Spirit takes hold of our hands, so we know we aren’t alone on this journey. We give thanks for that.

Dana has started our annual collecting school supplies for local kids. Just bring supplies to church the next few weeks and add to the collection!

Our message today included : We need to treat the problems in life like an oyster reacts to a grain of sand. An oyster keeps working at coating the sand until it becomes a pearl. We can react harshly to problems and irritating people or coat them with love and care. We need to remember that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Our Eat Together group met Wednesday at 1:00. We had such fun sharing a meal and lots of stories!
