Friends,

We have a beautiful opportunity to come alongside a growing ministry in Malava, Kenya.

For the past four years, I’ve watched Pastor Philip Wafula and his wife, Hellen, faithfully lead Malava Chapel with courage, humility, and a deep love for God and their community. Their heart for the lost, the needy, and for building God’s Kingdom is inspiring. Leon and I just returned from a week of missions there — distributing more than 700 pair of shoes to school children, providing sanitary towels to restore dignity and confidence to young girls, and supplying necessities for 60+ widows in the area. The need is real, but so is the faith.

Recently, their landlord increased the church rent by 50%, creating a hardship that makes it impossible for them to remain in their current space. As a result, they must begin again.
ARTOS Foundation has secured the land for them.

The immediate need is to dig and construct latrines and to put up a temporary church structure so the congregation can continue meeting and serving their community.
$300 - dig and construct latrines
$700 - timber for temporary structure
I will post more needs shortly, but this will get them started.

If you feel led to give, any amount will help. Your generosity will directly support a faithful pastor, his family, and a congregation determined to keep moving forward by the grace of God.

Please reach out if you would like more information on how to contribute. Thank you for praying and standing with them.

The Lord placed it in my heart to the establish a foundation to better serve the ministries and Leon and I currently support.
Recently we established the Artos Foundation.

Leon and I recently made our way to Kenya to visit a Pastor we have been supporting for about 3 years.
Here are the Highlights of our Outreach:

Day 3:

👞 Nearly 700 pairs of shoes given to K–8th graders — meeting a critical need at the start of the school year
💗 2,000+ sanitary towels distributed to young ladies to help restore dignity and confidence

We landed early in Kisumu, where Pastor Philip greeted us — along with Derek, a young man he once befriended on the street and has since adopted as his son. Derek is 19, has completed high school, and is hoping to train as an electrician. What a beautiful picture of redemption and fatherhood.

From the airport, we went directly to our first school — where more than 1,100 students were waiting to welcome us.

Pastor Philip, Pastor Patrick, and Associate Arnold faithfully lead a vibrant and active school ministry.

Arnold, gifted in singing and songwriting, led the children in joyful, catchy songs that teach wisdom and good choices. For the older teens, one powerful song carried a strong message: “He’s just using you.” A bold and loving call toward purity.

For the Primary Schools

Pastor Patrick spoke about “catching naughty thoughts” before they take root:

“Mosquito! Mosquito!”
Catch!
Kill!

Teaching them to capture wrong thoughts before they grow into destructive actions.

Pastor Philip reminded the children that at the beginning of this school term, they were “packaged so well” — with uniforms, books, shoes, socks — and sent out with purpose.

Just as Moses’ mother placed him carefully in the basket and sent him toward destiny, these children too have been packaged and sent — with calling, purpose, and God’s hand upon their lives.

They were incredibly attentive — repeating nearly every word, hungry to receive truth.

For the High School Students

The message was clear:

Decisions vs. Consequences.

Do not believe that a momentary decision is more important than the consequences it carries.
Do not sidetrack your destiny or God’s purpose for your life by thinking a choice is inconsequential.

Stay focused.
Renew your mind with the Word of God.
Guard your future.

It was powerful.
It was moving.
It was holy work.

And this is only the beginning.

Grateful beyond words.
