On Saturday, Nov 7, PPC is gathering a group to participate in some seasonal fun including a hayride, a bonfire and s'mores.

The program takes place at the Heartland Camp and reservations are needed. While there is unlimited capacity for the bonfire, games, and s'mores, there is a limit of 36 for the hayride, so act now to save your spot.

-Sept 13- Back to School Foam Sunday. Sunday School Kick-off Sunday is September 13th at 9:00. All are invited to join in the fun of the foam party, snacks and lemonade on the lawn.Our children and youth (and parents) are invited to celebrate back to school with a foam party on the South Parking lot. Bring a change of clothes and dance in the foam from 9- 9:30am. From 9:30am to 10:00am, There will be places for parents and kids to change their clothes and join us in worship at 10:00am. Regular Sunday School classes for children and youth will begin Sunday, September 27th (see below).

-Sept 20- Worship at the River, Blessing of the Animals, and Cris Cakes Pancake Breakfast. We will gather at the shelter at Platte Landing Park at 10am. Bring your four-legged (or two-legged) family members as we bless the animals and enjoy a wonderful pancake breakfast after worship. There will be no Sunday School that morning.

-Sept 27- We will be starting official Sunday School Classes on Sept 27th, beginning that morning at 9:00 with a family breakfast. Students will get their new classroom assignments and parents will meet with Pastor Krista (over breakfast) to discuss the results of the parent meetings we held this summer. We are looking forward to a great year!

September Marks a Season of Change

September always feels like a season of change. School is back in session, summer begins to wind down, and our community starts settling into the busy months ahead.

This month also gives us several important opportunities to pause and remember. Labor Day, September 7th, gives us a chance to recognize and appreciate the people who work hard every day to build our businesses, our community, and our country. Patriot Day, September 11th, reminds us to remember those who lost their lives and the courage and unity that followed the attacks of September 11, 2001. These dates give us an opportunity to slow down for a moment, remember why they are important, and appreciate the community we are fortunate to be a part of.

PACE Has a Lot to Celebrate This September!

Their work is a great example of how leadership and relationships help build a stronger business community.

PACE Young Professionals – September 23rd
The PACE Young Professionals will meet September 23rd at 10 a.m. for a very interesting program: Learning About Yourself Will Help You Work with Others. Dr. James from Park University will provide insights and coaching around the DISC personality assessment. Understanding how we communicate and work with others is an important part of becoming a better leader and building stronger professional relationships.

PACE will sponsor the DISC assessment for the first 20 people who register. After that, the cost will be $20. We would like everyone registered by September 14th so there is time to complete the assessment before the September 23rd meeting. (To Register: PACE Young Professionals Meeting!)

I am really excited about this program. It is a practical tool that can help young professionals better understand their own leadership style and learn how to work more effectively with others.

Parents and Grandparents, Summer 2027 Day Camps and Overnight Camps Registration is underway! If you had kids enrolled in camp this year or were on a waitlist, you are among the first to have the opportunity to secure your child's spot for next year.

Why Register Early? Our popular camps and summer weeks will fill up quickly. Early registration increases your child's chances of getting their preferred camp.

Overnight Camp Deposit: $100
Day Camp Deposit: $50
Changing Camps: No cost to change camps. We get that registering this early, plans may change. Luckily you can switch to another open camp for no charge.
Cancellation Policy: There isn't any risk to registering early. If needed, you can cancel anytime three weeks before your camp date for a full refund.

Two fun community events coming up from Parkville Presbyterian Church - mark your calendars

SPEAC: July Pantry Needs (located in the Parkville Presbyterian Church, lower level East Street side)

SPEAC appreciates the wonderful support received over the last couple months for the collection of single serve and easy to prepare food items. Having a supply of these items allows the pantry to more easily assist households living in motels with very limited ability to prepare meals, as well as unhoused individuals, neighbors recovering from illness or surgery, and a variety of other circumstances. So a big thank you to all!

In July, the pantry’s needs fall in the area of household and personal care items.

-Dish soap,

-toothpaste, and

-toilet paper are all welcome donations.

ALSO, we could really use some empty egg cartons, dozen-sized, to distribute eggs that we receive in bulk.

As always, all gifts, donations, and volunteers are helpful and so appreciated!

So glad to hear this:

Washington Chapel Sets the Date for its first Worship Service! Hallelujah and Amen! All our prayers, donations, and volunteer time have led us to a grand re-opening of the Washington Chapel CME Church.

Plan now to be at the worship service planned for Saturday, June 27th at 1pm. It will be a glorious service worshipping God and a grand celebration to welcome their congregation back home. Once again, thanks to so many people for helping make this happen. Work continues, and will continue even after we worship together in late June, but for now, thanks be to God!
