Friends of Parkville Parks

Friends of Parkville Parks Originally a fund-raiser for the City parks, this organization was officially closed in 2014. Now it is just a community forum.

Permanently closed.

Please keep that in mind when contributing. This is NOT the place to run political ads or comments. Friends of Parkville Parks (F.O.P.P.) 501(c)3 is a designated park advocacy organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and improving Parkville’s Parks. So glad to hear this:

Washington Chapel Sets the Date for its first Worship Service! Hallelujah and Amen! All our prayers, donations, and volunteer time have led us to a grand re-opening of the Washington Chapel CME Church.

Plan now to be at the worship service planned for Saturday, June 27th at 1pm. It will be a glorious service worshipping God and a grand celebration to welcome their congregation back home. Once again, thanks to so many people for helping make this happen. Work continues, and will continue even after we worship together in late June, but for now, thanks be to God!

Anyone know how I can change this page into a group so we can block all these ads coming from all over the country?

05/07/2026

So, miscellaneous ads are becoming a BIG problem on this page, so I am thinking about changing this to a private group to see if we can bock them better.

Please give me your feedback on what you're seeing here, so I can take that into consideration. This page is dedicated to local Parkville/Kansas City area mentions -- not politics -- and anything related to our good folks who live in the area. Will look forward to hearing from you.

Way to go, girl:

Congratulations to Marte Zirschky- A 2026 Pinnacle Award Recipient

Last Friday morning, our own Marte Zirschky was honored as a 2026 Pinnacle Award recipient presented by the Northland Community Foundation. The award honors philanthropy in the Northland and is presented annually to individuals, groups, and businesses who best exemplify civic pride, leadership, and caring, and who have made significant contributions, either monetarily or through personal deed to our community. Many folks from the Parkville Presbyterian Church and the Parkville Living Center were there to support our dear friend. So well deserved Marte, congratulations!
