Good evening, everyone,

This is Brookie Kilgore, vice president and co-founder of Renovare Mission, Inc. I wanted to take a moment to update our followers and supporters on a few decisions we have had to make.

For those of you that did not know, all four members of the Kilgore family sit on the Renovare Board. Trevor is our president and co-founder, Beth is our treasurer and Andrew is a board member. This past year, our family has had to undergo a lot of challenging situations making it difficult to begin planning our blessing bag preparation for this year. While we would like to keep the details of our families life changes private, we wanted to offer some explanation as to why we had to make this difficult decision about our blessing bag events.

Typically, by this point in the year, we have already had the collection boxes out and have begun to determine what items we still need or what we have enough of. Due to the family challenges we faced this summer and into this fall, we did not have the time to dedicate to the planning process. We all work full time in addition to volunteering our personal time with Renovare. This personal time has been cut down drastically this year and we were feeling burnt out while trying to rush to get things together.

I started this blessing bag project 8 years ago and every year we have done it bigger and better than the year before. My dad and I had a very difficult conversation and decided that we would not be able to give the same level of effort as we have in previous years. Therefore, we have decided that it would be best to postpone our collection for this year and start planning in January for next year.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding of this tough decision we had to make. It is not something we took lightly and there was a lot of thought behind what would be best for Renovare and for our board, who also volunteer their personal time towards our mission. We will be posting in January to update you after the holidays have passed. We hope that once things have settled down, we will have had some time to discuss a possible fundraising event and steps for moving forward with our mission so stay tuned!!

HAPPY FALL!! It’s officially the beginning of cooler days! This means it’s also the beginning of our collection for blessing bags!

We know what you’re thinking- “Man, they’ve been MIA for a while.” Have no fear we are back! Our team took a much needed break this summer to recharge for the blessing bag season. All of us here at Team Renovare have full time jobs and our own families to care for that had to take priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we took a little break from the non-profit tasks.

We are looking for some local businesses that are interested in hosting a blessing box this year. There are a few different sizes that we have to accommodate the different size spaces that our supporters may have. There’s very little that you would have to do in order to host a blessing box.

1. Have a designated space for the box to sit that is easily accessible to our supporters but out of the way for your business needs.
2. Allow people to enter your business during your hours of operation to drop off donations.
3. Notify us if it gets too full before we have someone come by to check it.
4. Be able to direct questions about the box and our mission to our website or page.

This year we are also looking for some volunteers to check the boxes weekly and collect the donations. More information about where to take donations will be shared with individuals that sign up for this.

We are so excited for another great year of helping those less fortunate than ourselves. More information regarding types of donations are needed, where to take donations, or how to get involved is to follow! Stay tuned!!

Great turn out today!

We assembled over 150 completed Blessing Bags and an additional 50+ Toiletry bags(Which is the key ingredient in the blessing bag.
HUGE Thank you to Big Truck Farms and Brewery for all the hospitality.
Great to see the members of Heartland Church who are defiantly “For Hereford” and beyond!

Join us on February 6th at Big Truck Farms and Brewery for our fundraiser from 12:00-8:00. We will be building blessing bags for the homeless from 12:00-2:00. We will also sign off on service hours for students.

Hi everyone!

Build-A-Bag update:
Unfortunately we have to postpone our event because of the regulations put into effect recently. We are exploring our options to either reschedule or relocate. This does, however, give us a chance to try and collect more donations. We haven’t gotten everything that we will need yet and will be going out to fill in the gaps using funds that have been donated. If you want to help, please purchase some of the items on the list below and place them in one of our drop boxes or make a monetary donation to our venmo account.

THANK YOU to all that helped with our Holiday cheer fundraiser with Penn Mar Recycle Company! The community donated $681 in recyclable metals in the "COW Dumpster" and Pen Marr matched it for a grand total of $1362!!!!
Along with Alpha Roofing & Siding and Penn Mar, we were able to raise over $2400.
This money was used to help make the holiday a little brighter for 5 families!
We will be continuing the "Recycling for a Cause" campaign and in the spring we will use the money to build a playground for the New Life center for Women and Children in Glen Rock, PA

Proud to able to help assist Scott help those affected by the tornados in Kentucky.
We have sent a check "from the Hereford Zone" to assist those in need of life's basic essentials in leu of this recent disaster.

Hello Renovare friends and family!

We have adopted several families for the holiday season to help fill some holes in wish lists. One of the families has asked for an Xbox and we are trying to follow through on this wish. We are looking for an Xbox One S or Xbox One X for a reduced price. We are also looking for controllers and games compatible with this model. If you have an Xbox that you would be willing to sell to us at a reduced rate, we would be very appreciative! We are also accepting monetary donations to help us purchase one new if we are unable to find something used.

Please help us make the holiday season merry for this family in anyway you can!
