The Friends of the Eastern Shore Public Library are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant from Better World Books, an online book seller offering a wide selection of used and new books. Through purchases made at https://www.betterworldbooks.com/, Better World Books offers annual literacy grants to fund literacy and educational nonprofits and libraries for specific projects. The grant received by the Friends of ESPL will be utilized to fund the Eastern Shore Regional Library's Early Literacy Program. The goal of this program is to foster early literacy in children from birth to age 5 by providing programming, manipulatives and circulating materials in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, English/Spanish, and English/Haitian Creole bilingual language editions. This program will begin in September of 2024. Look for more information about this program on our website at https://www.friendsespl.org/ and on the Eastern Shore Regional Library's website calendar at https://espl.org/
