The YMCA Seminole Nation Indian Princess program is for fathers that want quality, planned, one-on-one time with their daughter. The program is open to every dad with a child from Kindergarten through 7th grade (and then some.) Participation in activities for the father and daughter is a vital part of the YMCA Seminole Nation Indian Princess program. The father observes their daughter’s relationsh
ips in the group; sees the daughter’s strengths and needs, which creates a basis for helping their daughter to grow. Likewise, the daughter observes their father interacting with other dads and daughters. This provides the girls with an important role model. Overnight camping is a regular part of the YMCA Seminole Nation Indian Princess program. Campouts and other outings give parents and chidren a chance to socialize, share common experiences, and discover new and interesting people and places. We hold several weekend campouts during the year, both tent and cabin camping. Cabin campouts are setup much like kids summer camp. Many exciting activites are planned throughout the weekend. Food is prepared and served for you. Grab your sleeping bag and a pillow and you are ready for some great father/daughter bonding. At our main Springs and Fall campouts we hold our very special Induction & Breaking Arrow Ceromonies at the big bond fire. During the Induction Ceromony new princesses are welcomed by the Nation Chief. During the Breaking Arrow ceromony older girls finding themselves busy with life as a young teenager say goodbye to the program and take on the world following the life lessons experienced with their father during their years in the program. Tent campouts occur at other times during the year and give fathers a chance to show their daughters what camping in the real outdoors is all about. Great fun, food, nature and cooking smores over the campfire is the perfect setting for a weekend get away. Tent outings are very informal and dads and daughters have plenty of time to get to know other tribes.
