HERE IN PARKERSBURG:
The Parkersburg Area Jaycees were a driving Force in the community for over 65 years. Parkersburg has the proud honor of being the birthplace of the West Virginia Jaycees in 1939. Members of the New Parkersburg Area Jaycees will have many opportunities to achieve their goals and develop their skills. Whether interested in being a chapter officer, or simply working on a project
communittee, members will have the chance to learn skills ranging from marketing to personnel management and more. Every member has unique talents to offer, and we provide members with freedom to contribute them in any way, from training other members, to creatively using them in programs and projects. The Parkersburg Area Jaycees will have opportunities to participate in programs sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley. Parkersburg Area Jaycees have been known for these projects in the past:
- Santa's Helpers Program and the Little Mr./Miss Christmas Pageant
- Sponsors of the Special Olympics
- Haunted House
Since the chapter's reinstatement in 2011, projects have included:
- Taste of Parkersburg
- Chili Cook-Off
- Habitat for Humanity
- 5k Race
- Various Fundraisers
