The pressure’s real. The hours are long.
But so are your heart and your focus.
You’re built for this.

While Los Angeles burns, our officers bleed — and the silence from many of our nation’s leaders is deafening.

As rioters torch cars, hurl explosives, and attack law enforcement officers, some politicians would prefer to peddle lies to the community they supposedly serve, citing “peaceful protests” rather than condemning the violence against our officers and destruction of proper that is happening right in front of them.

Let’s be clear: This is not a protest. This is a targeted assault on the rule of law.

Law enforcement professionals are being doxxed, ambushed, and seriously injured — simply for doing their jobs. And while they hold the line, some elected officials are vilifying them, refusing to call out the violence, and siding with lawlessness over law enforcement.

The Fraternal Order of Police condemns these cowardly attacks and stands firmly with every officer still out there — protecting communities, upholding the law, and refusing to surrender to the mob.

We will always back the brave.

We will never stay silent while our brothers and sisters are under siege.

If you wear the badge, you are not alone.

NO EARLY RELEASE FOR A COP KILLER!

The Colorado Fraternal Order of Police stands firmly against any early release for Raul Gomez-Garcia, the convicted murderer of Denver Police Detective Donnie Young.

➡️ After taking the life of Detective Young in cold blood, Gomez-Garcia fled to Mexico to escape justice. His return to the U.S. was only possible due to an agreement that already spared him from the death penalty or life in prison.

⚖️ Justice must be served. Detective Young’s family, his children, his wife, and our entire law enforcement community deserve to see his murderer serve the full sentence he was given.

💙 The murder of a police officer is a crime against all of society. We must stand together to ensure there are no special privileges for cop killers.

This send a strong message to the Douglas County leadership. You were wrong for actions and you are being held accountable.

🚨 Victory for Douglas County Deputies! 🚨

The Colorado State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is proud to announce that the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) has determined that the Douglas County Sheriff and Commissioners violated state labor laws by attempting to intimidate and deter employees from exercising their rights during a union election process earlier this year.

This ruling is a significant win for all public employees who deserve a fair and lawful workplace, and we urge Douglas County officials to comply with CDLE’s orders immediately. This decision sends a clear message: the Colorado FOP will not tolerate attempts to silence or intimidate employees engaged in lawful election activities.

Our FOP President, Michael Deedon, stated, “The FOP remains steadfast in its commitment to defending members’ rights. We are ready to engage in transparent, constructive, and cooperative bargaining to secure the protections our members deserve while serving and protecting our communities.”

📢 General Counsel Sean McCauley will be available for comments today at 2:00 p.m. at the Colorado State Lodge Building, 8400 N. Alcott Street, Westminster, CO.

For more information, reach out to Labor Council Executive Director Frank Gale or Sean McCauley.

It is truly a sad day. Our hearts goes out to all those effected and will offer any support we can. You will be missed brother.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the tragic loss of Officer Evan Dunn, who was killed in the line of duty last night. Officer Dunn, 33, brought his dedication and service from his previous role as an Army Aviation Officer and Blackhawk pilot to the Golden Police Department, where he served this close-knit community with honor. Dunn also actively served as a Captain in the Army National Guard.

Officer Dunn is survived by his wife, Annalise, and their beloved dog, Remy, as well as his parents and two siblings. Annalise shared that Evan was, first and foremost, a man of faith, loyal, steady, quiet, and observant. The couple shared a deep love for the outdoors, often camping and traveling together in their free time. She is deeply appreciative of the overwhelming support from the community but asks for privacy in the coming days as she grieves.

The Golden Police Department, which serves a community of approximately 20,000 residents with a team of 71 employees, 53 of whom are sworn officers, is devastated by this loss. "We are a family," said Golden Police Chief Joe Harvey. "We are very close with each other and with our community. Evan had a bright future and was destined to do great things, and we will never get over his loss. We can only continue doing the job he loved in his honor."

Officer Dunn joined the Golden Police Department as a Code Enforcement Officer, where he served for a year before entering the police academy. He graduated in July and was partnered with Officer Bethany Grusing, his field training officer, who was also injured in the crash. Officer Grusing, a member of the Golden Police Department since 2020, sustained serious injuries. “She has a broken heart as well,” said Chief Harvey.

We are currently working on funeral arrangements and coordinating details for those who wish to offer support. Our department is incredibly grateful to everyone offering support, including the Colorado State Patrol, Arvada Police Department, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance during this difficult time.

Donations can be made to Colorado Fallen, the official donation website for Officer Evan Dunn. www.coloradogives.org/story/Goldenofficer

Further information regarding services and other details will be provided as they become available.
