Since January 1 the 554 Foundation has been able to put $26,294.83 back into our county. ❤️
That number means so much more to us than a dollar amount.
It means kids who had a little extra help. It means families who felt supported. It means showing up for our first responders, our schools, our youth, and our community.
And honestly, this is exactly what Mike would have wanted us to do.
Mike was the guy who showed up. He helped where he could, looked out for people, loved this community, and never needed recognition for it. “Be Like Mike” isn't just something we put on a shirt or a post. It's the reason we keep doing what we do.
We are a small but mighty board. Every one of us has a day job, families, and plenty of life happening outside of 554 Foundation. But we keep showing up because we believe in this community and because we know how much good can happen when people come together.
And we could never do it without YOU.
Every time we ask for help, you show up. You donate. You volunteer. You share our posts. You buy the tickets. You bid at the auctions. You tell your friends. You help us turn an idea into something that actually makes a difference right here at home.

Now we're asking again. ❤️

We have TWO events coming up, and we are looking for donations for our silent auctions and raffles. If you own a business, have an item you'd like to donate, or know someone who might be willing to help, please reach out to us.
No item is too big or too small. Every single donation helps us continue putting resources right back into La Paz County.
And if donating isn't possible right now, that's okay. Please share this post. Sometimes one share puts it in front of the person who can make a huge difference.
We started 554 because we wanted Mike's life to continue making an impact. Every time this community comes together, we see that happening.
This is what it means to Be Like Mike.
Show up. Help where you can. Take care of your people. Leave things better than you found them.

25 years later, we still remember.
We remember the lives that were taken too soon.
We remember the families who woke up that morning and never had the same life again.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and ordinary people who ran toward the danger when everyone else was trying to get away.
And we remember that the days following 9/11 showed us something powerful, when our country was hurting, people came together. Strangers helped strangers. Communities stood shoulder to shoulder. We remembered what it meant to be Americans.

As an organization built in honor of a man who spent his life serving others, this day carries a little extra weight for us.
Mike believed in showing up. He believed in helping people. He believed in community. And he believed that you don't have to be a hero to make a difference...you just have to be willing to step up when someone needs you.

Today, we honor every life lost, every family forever changed, and every first responder who answered the call that day and in the years that followed.

We remember.
We honor.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Today marks a HUGE milestone for Monument Peak—the first day of our very first volleyball season! 💚💛 And WOW… our girls look ready!

A huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to the 554 Foundation for generously sponsoring our team uniforms. Your support gave our athletes the opportunity to step onto the court looking like a TEAM and feeling proud to represent Monument Peak. We are incredibly grateful for your investment in our students and our growing athletics program.

These girls are ready to compete, grow, and make a little Monument Peak history! 💪🏐 We look good. We feel good. We’re ready. 💚💛

We wrapped up August by passing out gift cards to some of our local schools and to Bouse Community Church for their No Kids Hungry program. We are so grateful to be able to support the people and organizations in our community that are doing so much for our kids and families. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who continues to support 554 Foundation. We truly couldn’t do what we do without you!

And trust me… we have a BUSY fall planned! 🍂 Stay tuned because there’s a lot coming!

Today, 554 Foundation is honored to recognize Ryan Ponce as our First Responder of the Quarter. ❤️💙

I want to share a little bit about how we choose these recipients because I think it makes this recognition even more special.
The nominations are reviewed through a blind judging process, meaning the judge doesn’t know who they are choosing. I didn’t personally choose Ryan. Honestly, neither did 554.

Mike’s mom did.

And when I read Ryan’s nomination after the fact, something really hit me. The things Ryan was being recognized for are so much like the things I remember about Mike. Ryan doesn’t just serve people because it’s his job. He shows up for people. He takes care of others. He works long shifts, goes without sleep, and then comes home and continues taking care of his family. He’s a husband. He’s a dad. He takes his daughter to tournaments, makes sure his wife is taken care of, keeps things running, helps others without being asked, takes care of vehicles, and steps up for his extended family when they need him. He’s dependable. He’s selfless. He’s the person people can count on. Those are the exact qualities that made Mike who he was. That’s what makes this recognition so special to me.

When we started 554 Foundation in Mike’s memory, the goal wasn’t just to remember Mike. It was to continue recognizing and supporting the people who carry those same qualities forward. And today, we get to recognize someone who without anyone knowing who they were judging ended up reflecting so much of what Mike stood for.
I don’t think that’s something we could have planned. Sometimes things just happen the way they’re supposed to.

Ryan, congratulations. Thank you for what you do for our community, for your family, and for the people who count on you.

From our family and everyone at 554 Foundation, thank you for being the kind of first responder who doesn’t just wear the title… you live it.
