We were blessed to hear from our new District Governor, Cindy Rold. She is a dynamic speaker who has traveled to 65 countries and all 50 states. She has a passion for travel and service projects. Her theme is “Unite for Good” where she emphasizes connections are the key to growing both our Rotary Members as well as domestic and international service projects. Cindy has been to a number of African countries and is going to Kenya next week to help with a water project for schools and the community. This was only made possible through 8 clubs coming together including $30k in fundraising.
Watch out….Cindy has the energy to impact the world ! She will be a great leader… welcome!

We were privileged to present Ruby June Farley with a scholarship to Dickinson College. She just happens to be the granddaughter of Kam Breitenbach (our Rotary Mrs. Claus). Ruby has a passion for ceramics and has lived throughout Asia most of her life. She is beautiful, creative and hopes to eventually move into Occupational Therapy with a minor in Mandarin Studies.

Today we were lucky to have Dan Klehm, owner of Convict Coffee to provide an emotional and impactful speech on his life and mission going forward. He was raised in a difficult environment filled with drugs, alcohol and mental illness. Through his poor choices, he became incarcerated but decided to turn his life around and continue his passion for family and community. He has successfully built a very unique coffee shop including music, artwork and a place for those to be respected with a lot of guidance to turn their lives around. Dan is planning on expanding to 10 coffee shops and eventually to franchise his operation nationwide. He fought hard to keep the Convict Coffee name even though possibly concerned it would turn away some of his business.
He speaks to a number of youth organizations, at prisons, 501c charities and anyone that will listen. He is a dynamic speaker which encompass’ clarity and purpose in your life to achieve your goals. Dan totally believes that if you are dedicated and work hard that each employee should be involved in profit sharing, owning a franchise and impacting “all communities” without discrimination.

Today we inducted two new members into our Parker Afternoon Club. Our warmest welcome to Ron Long and Bryan Nolan!
