If you are waiting for symptoms to appear, you are waiting too long.

Early-stage prostate cancer usually has zero warning signs. That is why a simple PSA blood test is such a vital first step to protect your health. Feeling fine isn't a screening plan.

PCEC recommends that all men know their personal risk and get a prostate cancer screening (PSA test) at age 45 if they are at normal risk, or starting at age 40 if they are at higher-than-average risk.

Here are a few simple ways to protect yourself and the people you care about today:
* Schedule your own wellness exam or screening appointment if you are due.
* Remind a man you care about (a father, brother, son, or friend) to do the same.
* Send this video to three people to help spread the word.

A single blood test can be an important step in protecting your health.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and we're starting the conversation early.

Awareness is important, but taking action is what counts. Throughout the next month, PCEC will be hosting screening and education events in communities across the country to help more men learn about prostate cancer risk, early detection, and PSA testing.

Know Your PSA. Know Your Baseline.

A PSA blood test provides a result that you and your healthcare provider can follow over time and use as part of the conversation about your prostate health.

Unable to attend one of our events? You can still take action. Schedule a routine health visit and talk with your healthcare provider about whether PSA testing is right for you.

Drop a πŸ’™ in the comments if you're committing to prioritizing men's health with us this September!

If you or someone you care about has recently received a prostate cancer diagnosis, know that treatment decisions are not one-size-fits-all. πŸ’™

Prostate cancer can behave differently from one person to another, which is why treatment plans are highly personalized. For some patients, monitoring may be appropriate, while others may benefit from treatment.

Today, healthcare providers can use tools such as imaging, biomarkers, genomic testing, PSA results, and other clinical information to better understand an individual's cancer and help guide care decisions.

Talk with your healthcare provider about your individual diagnosis and which options may be right for you.

Swipe to see 3 important questions to ask your healthcare provider at your next visit.

What if one trained community leader could help prostate cancer education reach an entire community?

We're excited to spotlight the launch of our Prostate Cancer Early Detection Community Program!

Through this initiative, PCEC is equipping trusted community leaders with training, educational materials, and resources they can use to spread prostate cancer education more broadly within their communities.

Why train community leaders?

Because increasing the number of trusted voices sharing accurate information helps us expand our reach far beyond what PCEC could accomplish alone.

By putting reliable prostate cancer education and early detection resources directly into the hands of community leaders, we can help bring important health information to the places where men live, work, gather, and connect.

More trained leaders. More conversations. More communities reached.

Reach out to PCEC to learn more about getting involved!
