We presented our fourth annual Youth Awards April 7 at the PACE Center. These awards recognize outstanding youth in our community who demonstrate what it means to be a member of the Town.

The Spirit of Parker Awards, the high school category, recognized high school students who have made a positive, meaningful and beneficial impact on the Town of Parker. Submissions included a written composition. Winners Zachary Beguin and Mya Johnson received a $1,000 scholarship to the higher education institute of their choice.

The Pride of Parker Awards, the middle school category, invited students to create a visual art piece that expressed what Parker means to them. Winners Nuelle Dunkel, Ella KonecnyStrait, Mia Ribic, Satyaki Sarker and Olivia Savino received a $200 gift card.

The awards were funded, in part, by a grant from the Parker Chamber Foundation. Board of Directors member Scott Ranalletta represented the Foundation at the ceremony.

Winning submissions will be exhibited by Parker Arts at the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Ave., through May 7. Find the works along the wall outside of the Mainstage Theatre facing the patio windows.

Congratulations once again to the award recipients!

The past couple of weeks the Parker Youth Commission got lots of learning opportunities! First, we hosted a lunch and learn with a class from CEC and got to speak and discuss with different business and industry leaders to learn more. Then, we met up with other youth commissions in Douglas County where we met, learned, and spoke with more elected officials and leaders. These have been great experiences and we are so grateful for these opportunities to learn more!
