🧺☀️ **Happy National Picnic Day!** ☀️🧺

Today is a great reminder to slow down, get outside, and enjoy the simple things in life.

Whether it's a picnic in the park, lunch with family, or gathering with friends, sharing a meal outdoors is a wonderful way to connect with others and appreciate the community around us.

At Rotary, we know that some of the best conversations, friendships, and ideas happen when people come together. National Picnic Day celebrates exactly that—community, fellowship, and making memories with those who matter most.

So grab a blanket, pack your favorite snacks, and enjoy some fresh Colorado sunshine today! 🌳🍉🥪

What would be in your perfect picnic basket? Let us know in the comments! 👇

🍻🎉 **Rotary Serving Up Fun at Parker Days Beer Fest!** 🎉🍻

The Rotary Club of Parker was proud to volunteer at the **Parker Days Beer Fest**, helping pour beverages and keep the good times flowing for attendees throughout the event!

Events like Parker Days bring our community together, and we're always excited to lend a hand while supporting one of Parker's favorite traditions. From serving drinks to sharing smiles, our members had a fantastic time connecting with residents and visitors alike.

A big thank you to all of our Rotary volunteers who donated their time and energy, and to everyone who stopped by to enjoy the festivities. We love being part of such an amazing community!

Cheers to community, fellowship, and service! 🍺💙

🇺🇸 **Happy Flag Day!** 🇺🇸

Today, we honor the American flag and the values it represents—freedom, unity, courage, and opportunity.

On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States. For nearly 250 years, our flag has stood as a symbol of hope and resilience through times of challenge, triumph, and service.

As Rotarians, we are reminded that strong communities are built when people come together in service, respect one another, and work toward a common purpose. Those same ideals are reflected in the flag we proudly celebrate today.

The Rotary Club of Parker extends our gratitude to all who have served and sacrificed to protect the freedoms represented by our nation's flag.

Take a moment today to display your flag proudly, reflect on what it means to you, and celebrate the values that unite us as Americans.

❤️🤍💙 Happy Flag Day!

🥫💙 **Thank You, Parker!** 💙🥫

Once again, the Parker community demonstrated its incredible generosity during the **June 6 Parker Task Force Food Drive** at the Stroh Ranch King Soopers.

A special shoutout goes to one amazing community member who donated an entire cart full of groceries! 👏🛒

Together, we collected:

📦 67 boxes of food
💵 $697 in cash and gift cards
🍗 41 pounds of chicken
🥩 35 pounds of ground beef
🧈 67 pounds of butter
🧀 63 packages of sliced cheese
🥛 41 gallons of milk
🌭 11 packages of hot dogs

The impact of these donations is significant. According to Parker Task Force, this food will help feed approximately **47 families for two weeks** and represents nearly **65% of the food flowing through the Parker Task Force**.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this effort. Together, we're helping ensure that our neighbors in need have access to nutritious food and essential resources.

This is what community looks like. 💙

Thank you to **Rod Hernley** for speaking to the Rotary Club of Parker on **"Fraud Protection in the Electronic Age."**

In today's digital world, protecting yourself from online fraud and cybercrime is more important than ever. Rod shared several practical tips that everyone can use to improve their online security:

✅ **Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)** for your accounts whenever possible. MFA adds an extra layer of protection beyond just a password.

⚠️ **Be cautious when filling out surveys or responding to unsolicited requests.** Some surveys and questionnaires can be phishing attempts designed to gather personal information.

💾 **Have a backup strategy.** If you fall victim to ransomware or another cyberattack, your backups can be your lifeline. Rod recommended maintaining an **offline backup solution** that remains unplugged when not actively backing up data, helping protect it from being compromised along with your primary systems.

Thank you, Rod, for helping our members stay informed and better prepared to navigate today's digital landscape safely.

🔙 **Throwback Thursday | December 18, 2019** 🎅🎄💙

One of our favorite holiday traditions took place when **Rotarian Elves Gail and Jane joined Rotarian Santa and Mrs. Claus** for a special visit to patients at **Parker Adventist Hospital**.

Patients who welcomed Santa and Mrs. Claus into their rooms received a thoughtful gift package that included:
🎁 A cozy blanket
🪥 Toothbrush and toothpaste
💋 Chap stick
💌 A "Thinking of You" card signed by Rotarians
🍬 A candy cane
📚 A paperback book

Most importantly, they received a little extra Christmas cheer and a reminder that they were on Santa's "good list"!

This project perfectly reflects what Rotary is all about—bringing hope, kindness, and connection to those who may need it most during the holiday season.

💙🏥 **Rotary Making a Difference—Close to Home** 🏥💙

One of the most powerful things Rotary does is help communities solve challenges that might otherwise seem impossible.

In remote Labrador, Canada, many Indigenous residents suffering from kidney failure were forced to leave their families, culture, and communities to receive life-sustaining dialysis treatments. With no local dialysis clinics and limited transportation options, some patients had to relocate hundreds of miles away from home.

Through Rotary Foundation Global Grants, Rotary clubs partnered with healthcare providers to bring **portable dialysis equipment** directly to these remote communities. The innovative machines use premixed dialysis solutions and do not require a reliable local water supply, making treatment possible in areas where traditional dialysis would not work.

The impact has been life-changing. One patient was able to return home after years away, spending precious time fishing, surrounded by family, friends, and the culture he loved. His daughter described it as the happiest she had seen him in years.

This project is a reminder that Rotary's work isn't just about building projects—it's about restoring dignity, preserving families, and improving lives. It also serves as a model that could help remote communities around the world gain access to critical healthcare. 🌎

That's Rotary in action: identifying a need, bringing people together, and creating lasting solutions.
