📌 NKY SHRM Legal Roundtable – February 2026

Immigration enforcement has become an immediate operational concern for employers across industries, not just a compliance issue. From increased I-9 audits to unannounced government visits and rising employee concerns, many organizations are navigating these challenges for the first time.

Join NKY SHRM for a Legal Roundtable focused on practical, solutions-based guidance for HR professionals and business leaders.

• Best practices during ICE or government workplace visits
• Managing employee anxiety, morale, and attendance concerns

Words from the President, Claire E. Parsons 📣

Hello and Happy New Year to the NKY SHRM Community!

I would first like to start by thanking our outgoing President, Holly Duffy, for a wonderful year in 2025. I look forward to serving as your President in 2026 and am pleased that Vicki Crawford PHR, SHRM-CP, SSGBC will serve as Vice President.

It was wonderful to spend time with you at our Annual Basket Raffle Fundraising Event. We are pleased that, with your help, we raised funds to support Caped Canines Assistance Academy. Now that the holidays are over, many of us are focusing our attention towards the new year.

Our next meeting in January should help you do that. At our next meeting, on January 27, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Receptions, Elizabeth Galperin, CEO of Peak Productivity, will present “New Year, Next Level You: Habits for High-Performing HR Professionals and Teams.” In the session, we will learn the steps to form and maintain good habits. I hope that you will join us for this informative session.

If one of your goals for the New Year is to get more involved with NKY SHRM, I encourage you to reach out. We have a wonderful and experienced Board of Directors and continue to enjoy support from Chapter Administrator, Mary Spadaro, but we are continuing to search for a Treasurer to help us keep NKY SHRM’s financial matters in order. We also always have opportunities to join committees if you want more involvement but are not ready for a Board role. Please reach out to [email protected] if you are interested.

In case you cannot wait for our next meeting or want to prepare for it, I will leave you with a few articles on habit formation for HR professionals:

🔹Build Better Habits. Build Better Teams.🔹

📅 Date: January 27, 2026
⏰ Time: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Location: Receptions – Erlanger
1369 Donaldson Highway, Erlanger, KY

Join us for our January luncheon with speaker Elisabeth Galperin, Founder and CEO of Peak Productivity, as we explore how high-performing professionals and teams don’t rely on willpower, they rely on systems and habits. Grounded in insights from Atomic Habits by James Clear and Michael Hyatt’s No-Fail Habits, this engaging training highlights how small, intentional changes can compound into lasting personal and organizational success. Elisabeth combines proven research with real-world application to help leaders reduce overwhelm, increase productivity, and perform at their peak.

Designed for HR professionals and leaders, this session dives into how habits shape identity at work and at home, how the Habit Loop and the Four Laws of Habit Formation apply to workplace best practices, and how to embed habit-building into performance management and team culture. Participants will leave with practical strategies to foster consistency, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
