Our Fourth of July celebration at Rocky Creek Youth Ranch was one to remember, and it's all because of the incredible generosity of our community! Thanks to your support, our youth enjoyed a day filled with great food, fun, fellowship, and an unforgettable fireworks display. The smiles, laughter, and memories made will stay with them for years to come.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to John Brewen with Brewen Farms (Fredericktown), Amy Zielinski with Cedar Creek Hardwoods, Steve Rehkop, Dennis Harter, Larry and Barb Wagganer, New Era Bank in Desloge for allowing us to borrow a grill, Prairie Farms, Harps in Park Hills, Faith Cowboy Church, Schnucks (Farmington), The Lordโ€™s Table Meat & Coffee, and the RJO at Potosi Correctional Center for helping raise funds that allowed each group of youth to enjoy an evening at the Desloge Pool. We also want to thank Jerry's Fireworks for their continued support by providing a firework show annually for our youth! Your kindness and generosity helped make this special day possible, and we are truly grateful for each of you.

Thank you for investing in the lives of the youth we serve and for helping create memories they will cherish forever. We are blessed to have such an incredible community standing beside us. Happy Fourth of July and thank you all for making a difference! โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒŸ Employee Spotlight Series | Nate Barron ๐ŸŒŸ

This month, we're excited to recognize Nate Barron in our Employee Spotlight Series! Nate has truly stepped up his game and has been working hard to be the best he can be for the youth we serve. His dedication, willingness to grow, and commitment to making a positive impact have not gone unnoticed. We are incredibly proud of the tremendous growth he has shown and are grateful to have him as part of the Rocky Creek Youth Ranch team.

Now, let's get to know Nate a little better! One of his favorite parts of working at RCYR is assisting Duncan with her many projects. He also says one of the biggest things he's learned while working here is keeping up with all the current phrases kids use. An interesting fact that many people may not know is that he performed stand-up comedy for five years!

Outside of work, Nate enjoys watching The Bear, listening to WTF with Marc Maron, and reading Born Standing Up by Steve Martin. If he could have dinner with anyone, he'd choose Mel Brooks, and his dream vacation is New Zealand - though his favorite place he's visited so far is the beautiful Pacific Northwest. If he ever found himself on a reality TV show, it would be Jack***, and if you catch him at karaoke, don't be surprised if he's singing "Rich Girl" by Hall & Oates!

When asked which coworker's role he'd switch with for a day, Nate said Sher's - just so he could wear her cool shoes! He's currently getting into juggling, has attending the Gathering of the Juggalos on his bucket list, and jokingly claims his ideal superpower would be "Naps and sitting... Captain Comfort." ๐Ÿ˜„

Perhaps the most meaningful response Nate shared was the advice he'd give to the youth at RCYR: "It won't always be bad." Those simple words reflect the hope and encouragement we strive to provide every day.

Thank you, Nate, for your commitment, your growth, and the positivity you bring to the Rocky Creek Youth Ranch family. We're proud to have you on our team! ๐Ÿ’™

There are some people who make the world a little brighter simply by being in it. Kristen was one of those people. As we continue to mourn the loss of our dear friend and coworker, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible person she was and express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has reached out with prayers, condolences, donations, kind words, and support during this difficult time. Your kindness has meant so much to Kristen's family, friends, coworkers, and all those whose lives she touched. ๐Ÿ’—

Kristen was truly one of the greatest assets to our Rocky Creek family. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. Whether she was checking in on a coworker, supporting a youth, or simply bringing laughter into the room, she made an impact that will never be forgotten.

When asked what they will remember most about Kristen, our staff shared countless stories of her humor, kindness, and unforgettable personality. Many remembered her carrying around "Gerald" the chicken and proudly wearing her fake mustache. Others recalled her constant jokes, funny faces, bubbly spirit, and ability to make even the hardest days brighter.

The words used most often to describe Kristen were loving, funny, caring, selfless, strong, outgoing, charismatic, passionate, goofy, and one-of-a-kind. She was an amazing mother, friend, sister, coworker, and role model. She taught others the importance of caring for those around you, finding joy in laughter, being unapologetically yourself, and always showing up for the people you love.

Many shared that Kristen helped them become better role models for the youth we serve. She reminded us that there is always a time to laugh, that life is better when shared with others, and that checking on someone's well-being can make all the difference. Her selflessness, compassion, and dedication to others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. One staff member shared, "She never hesitated to do something to make someone else's life easier." Another described her as "a bright spot in a dark world." Others remembered her favorite saying: "I know you hate me, but I love you." These memories perfectly capture the authentic, caring, and wonderfully unique person Kristen was.

Her dedication to the youth we serve and her commitment to her coworkers were unmatched. She offered a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and sometimes the most sarcastic advice imaginable - but it always came from a place of love. She was the type of person who could make you smile on your hardest day and leave you with a memory that would last forever.

Kristen was deeply loved, and her absence is felt every day. She leaves behind countless memories, lessons, laughs, and moments that will continue to live on in all of us. She was truly one of a kind, and there will never be another Kristen.

As we continue to honor her memory, we would love to hear from those whose lives she touched. Please share in the comments:

๐Ÿ˜Š Something that always reminds you of her

Thank you again for the overwhelming support, generosity, prayers, and donations that have been extended to Kristen's family, loved ones, and our RCYR community. We are forever grateful for the love that has surrounded all those affected by her loss.
Kristen, you were loved beyond words, and you will be missed beyond measure. ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿชฝ

๐ŸŒŸ Employee of the Month Spotlight: Audreeanna ๐ŸŒŸ

Audreeanna is one of a kind - the kind of person you know you can count on no matter what the day brings.

She consistently shows up, follows policies and procedures, and sets a positive example for both staff and youth every single day. Her reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic make her an incredible asset to our team. The value she brings to RCYR truly cannot be overstated, and her consistency and dedication help keep everything running smoothly.

Now, if you know Audreeanna, then youโ€™ve probably heard her unofficial office title: โ€œmost likely to be the Dwight of RCYR.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜„ Between her attention to detail, consistency, and dedication to doing things the right way, we canโ€™t say the comparison is completely inaccurate!

She takes pride in her work, helps keep things organized, and brings a level of structure and dependability that every team needs. More importantly, the youth and staff around her benefit from the example she sets daily.

Weโ€™re incredibly grateful to have Audreeanna as part of the RCYR family, and we appreciate everything she does for the youth we serve. She is truly a valued member of our team, and we are lucky to have her. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ‘ Help us congratulate Audreeanna in the comments!
