The Park City Sunrise Rotary Club meets every Thursday morning at 7:15 AM for breakfast and a presentation of various sorts. Our meeting location is at Hyatt Place Park City, 4377 UT-224, Park City, UT 84098. We are comprised of Park City area men and women who are leaders in business

and the community; involved in many local and worldwide projects - service through action. Each breakfast meeting includes a program or speaker on various topics meant to educate, enlighten, and entertain our members. Our diversity among professions and character make us a vivacious club and furthermore, we have a lot of fun together. Our quarterly fees cover the weekly breakfasts and membership dues for Rotary International. For more info, email [email protected] or just show up for a Thursday morning meeting. Our Rotarians had a busy week!
Tuesday evening, we prepped skis for the 10th Annual Shot Ski event.
Thursday morning, we recognized our latest Paul Harris awardees - Tomoko Schlag (+7 & +8), Jeff Nielsen (+5), and Tom Jacobsen (+1) - and enjoyed the fun origin stories of Matt Lindon and Glen Kutler.
And Friday evening, an enthusiastic group soaked up the PC Opera’s performance of “Romeo et Juliette!”

This morning, we had the pleasure of hosting Park City Opera, a local non-profit committed to making opera engaging and accessible for today's audiences. Operations Director and Co-Founder, Lisl Wangermann, explained how she and her team curate diverse seasons that blend informal, free performances at local venues with full-scale theatrical productions.

Park City Opera's next major show is Charles Gounod's, “Romeo et Juliette." Directed by Ms. Wangermann, this production reimagines the pageantry and passion of Shakespeare's well-known play through the grand orchestral and theatrical language of French Romantic opera. In partnership with Ballet West, it will also feature dance choreography by Michael Waldrop.

Performances will be held on August 21st & 23rd--and will include English subtitles.

Co-Founder and Conductor, Benjamin Beckman, and Utah-based soprano, Nicole Heinen, treated us to a sneak preview of Juliette's hauntingly beautiful "Poison Aria."

Leadership Park City Class 32 members, Anna Nihzoni and Allison Williams, joined us today to showcase their class's work on the Summit County Mural Project.

By creating murals that highlight local non-profits, community causes, and relevant issues, SCMP seeks to amplify diverse voices, reflect shared values, and strengthen civic pride and a sense of belonging throughout Summit County.

Anna designs each mural using a "paint-by-number" approach that enables community members of all ages and artistic abilities to participate in the creation process.

This morning, Meaghan Miller Gitlin and her sons shared stories and reflections from their time at the Rotary International Convention last month. Their adventurous trip took them to Taipei, Taiwan, where over 37,000 Rotarians participated in social, cultural, and philanthropic exchanges. It was an uplifting reminder that "Service Above Self" at the individual level creates meaningful ripples throughout the world.

Grantdance was a huge success! Last week, we had the pleasure of awarding $45K+ in grant funding to over 30 well-deserving local/regional organizations. These funds were raised by our annual Park City Shot Ski event. We hope you can join us on October 10th to raise another shot and even more funds for our local non-profits!
