Women's Ski Jumping USA Women’s Ski Jumping USA is the primary support group for the Women's USA Ski Jumping Team and aims to What is the overall mission?

To support and to grow participation in the U.S. women's ski jumping by facilitating development efforts that produce the best women ski jumpers in the world, with an emphasis on Character, Confidence and Courage. In addition, WSJ-USA aims to remain an influential voice in advocating for gender equality in sport. When did the organization form and why? WSJ-USA is a 501c3 non-profit organization in

corporated in 2003 in Park City, Utah. It was created to support the rising number of elite U.S. women ski jumpers who needed financial support and strong leadership to get them into the international fold and on sport's biggest stage, the Olympic Games. Peter Jerome, an airline pilot and father to 10-time National Champion Jessica Jerome, bought a "Nonprofit For Dummies" book and recruited prominent community leaders to join the effort. More than 10 years later, WSJ-USA has proudly supported the Team to back-to-back Nations Cup victories in 2012 and 2013, and fostered the careers of World Champions Lindsey Van and Sarah Hendrickson. How is Women's Ski Jumping USA funded? Support for WSJ-USA comes from private donations, fundraisers, and grants.

Congratulations to WSJ athlete's Cara Larson, Logan Sankey, and Annika Belshaw for their results in this past weekends event in Kandersteg,Switzerland with coach Blake Hughes. Annika Belshaw with a solid 28th, Logan Sankey 29th and Cara Larson came away form the weekends FIS CUP event with a 28th place finish. Anna Hoffmann and Samantha Macuga were only a few meters away from reaching the top 30 in the double event weekend. Stay tuned, more to come form these up and coming junior athletes.

Our junior ladies just arrived in Kandersteg Switzerland this weekend for FIS Cups with coach Blake! They spent the last few days in Slovenia training with Sarah and Abby.
They will compete on Saturday and Sunday. Results can be found on fisski.com or ewoxx.com
World Junior Championships will be held in Kandersteg this coming winter!

It was a challenging event today, with tricky wind & rain in Chaikovsky, Russia.
Abby & Sarah were able to finish the summer season off by placing 18th & 22nd.
Nita unfortunately did not make the qualification.

Grand Prix 2017 overall ranking:
Sarah 14th
Abby 19th
Tara 40th
Nita 45th

There are less than 3 months until the winter season starts and again we want to thank all who have been cheering the girls on & supporting their dreams!!

Update from Chaikovsky RUS:
Sara Takanashi of Japan dominated the field with a huge first round jump of 106m on HS102. Julia Kykkanen of Finland stepped onto the podium for the first time finishing 2nd and Irina Avvakumova of Russia finished 3rd.

Our girls had a solid day and earned more points towards the U.S. Olympic quota spots:
Abby placed 16th
Sarah placed 18th
Nita placed 26th

Qualification and final Grand Prix competition are tomorrow.
First round starts at 12pm Local (3am EST/1am MST)

Sarah, Abby, Nita & World Cup coach Igor are headed to Chaikovsky RUS for the final Grand Prix events of the season.
Schedule for the weekend is:
Friday
Qualification for Saturday: 11am Local (2am EST/12am MST)
Saturday
Trial round: 9am Local (12am EST/10pm MST FRI)
First round: 10am Local (1am EST/11pm MST FRI)
Sunday
Trial/Qualification: 8am Local (11pm EST SAT/9pm MST SAT)
