Charities and non-profit organizations survive or fail based
on the amount of philanthropic giving that they can generate through their fundraising efforts. Our goal is to help charities maximize their efforts by strengthening their existing donor base, and attracting new donors through innovative online marketing and social media efforts. Online charitable giving still makes up only a small part of total charitable giving in the US (about 7.5%), but that number is growing every year: a 13.5% increase in 2013. Younger generations of donors are going to be much more likely to get involved and stay involved with charities that have a bigger digital footprint and an ability to receive online donations instead of only relying on more "traditional" methods. The charities and organizations that see those trends, and embrace that opportunity, will be better poised to receive donations than those that do not. Private business and corporations are learning the benefits and power of online marketing and social media, and it's time to help non-profit organizations reap those same rewards. It's time to rethink the philanthropic world to be more inline with the private world, and learn best practices to increase charitable markets and the way that people approach charitable giving. We all want a better world, and to tackle important issues in the world around us; we all have some cause or idea that is important to us. More effective, more robust, and more viable non-profits are the best way to help make meaningful and positive changes in the communities around us.
