Help us pull up musk thistle! 🌿

Musk thistle is a harmful, invasive w**d that can spread rapidly across pastures, roadsides, and open spaces.
It produces large purple or pink flowers and can scatter thousands of seeds, making it difficult to control once established.

The good news? We can all help! 💪 Pulling or removing musk thistle before it goes to seed is one way to stop it from spreading.
So, if you see a musk thistle, don’t just walk on by—pull it up, remove it, and help protect our ecosystem! 🌱

Every plant removed is one less plant producing seeds!

Volunteers Needed! 🌿

Help protect Ross Creek at Jordanelle State Park this coming Wednesday!
Musk thistle is taking over areas near beautiful Ross Beach, crowding out native plants and stealing valuable water, sunlight, and soil nutrients from our local ecosystem.

This invasive noxious w**d also has sharp, spiny leaves that can harm both people and wildlife. Together, we can stop its spread and make Ross Creek the beach you want to go to escape the summer heat!

🕑 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

After the volunteer project, enjoy a delicious BBQ with fellow volunteers! 🍔🌭

‼️RSVP is required as BBQ space is limited.

Join us, make a difference, and help keep Jordanelle State Park beautiful for everyone. We can’t wait to see you there! 🌿💚🌱

You know it, and we know it — garlic mustard is one of the biggest threats to our local ecosystems. It aggressively spreads, invade native plants, reduces habitat and food sources for pollinators, and can even contribute to increased wildfire risk.

‼️We are now facing a critical stage, Garlic Mustard is seeding fast, we only have a couple of weeks more to pull!

The good news? Together, we’ve already reached our goal of 10,000 pounds of garlic mustard pulled! 🎉
But we’re not done yet!

We’re just 1,681 pounds away from beating our 2024 record, and with only a couple more weeks left—some areas have just days before it’s too late—every pound counts.

We need our champions to help finish strong. Grab some gloves, head out, and pull the last of the garlic mustard before it goes to seed. Together, we can protect our wild spaces and set a new record. 💚🌿

Almost 9,000 pounds of garlic mustard have been pulled so far this season and we couldn’t have accomplished so much without our incredible volunteers! 💚🍃

You are the reason this season is becoming such a success! 🌷

Last Saturday, together we removed nearly 300 pounds of garlic mustard, built an even stronger community, enjoyed delicious coffee, and had fun winning prizes! 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered at the Armstrong Trail last weekend and to everyone who continues to join us for our volunteer games throughout the season.

The garlic mustard is developing seed so we only have a few weeks before it’s too late. With many more acres to pull, we still need you!🎉🌿
