Annika Nadine Hutsler on why representation matters.

Watching Paralympian Amy Purdy broadened Annika’s perspective during her limb salvage experience.

“It changes your life, but it doesn’t stop your life.”

Annika is now an alpine skier, performed Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with her community theatre, and is currently training for the Marine Corps Marathon.

Today is Juneteenth!

On June 19th, we commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. Today, we celebrate freedom and honor those who fought to create it.

Meet our SIS athlete, Elayna.

“Sisters In Sports filled a hole for me. It really supported me as a whole athlete.”

That’s what this is about. Being that community for every SIS athlete. Being her support system. Showing up for her. Be Part of Her Team today.

Give today through the link in our bio.

Be Part of Her Team—Give Today.
Link in bio. Kate shows up every day. Through the hard days. Through the doubt. What most people don’t see is everything it takes to stay in sport. No athlete gets there alone. She needs a team behind her, with her beyond the finish line.

Today is National Adaptive Sports Day 🤍
And for us, this day is more than recognition — it’s personal.
Adaptive sport changes lives.
It builds confidence, independence, identity, and belonging.
But what people don’t always see is what it takes to stay in sport.
The cost.
The isolation.
The moments of doubt.
The question so many athletes face: “Can I keep going?”
That’s why Sisters in Sports Foundation exists.
We don’t just help women and girls with disabilities find sport —
we stand beside them so they can stay.
Through mentorship.
Through community.
Through real financial support.
Through mental health resources.
Because no athlete should have to chase her dreams alone.
Today, we celebrate every adaptive athlete —
their strength, their resilience, and their courage to keep showing up.
And we recommit to walking alongside them —
beyond the starting line, beyond the finish line, and into everything they are capable of becoming.
