Some people are born knowing exactly what they’re meant to do. 🎬

Eric Souliere, CSA knew he wanted to be a casting director at ten years old — and he never looked back. After earning his BFA in Film Studies from Hunter College, Eric moved to Los Angeles and by 26 was co-casting director on Ryan Murphy’s Nip/Tuck alongside his mentor and dear friend Eric Dawson.

From there, Eric and Dawson went on to cast four seasons of American Horror Story and the early seasons of 9-1-1. Eric has since built an incredible independent career with credits including 9-1-1 Lone Star, Scream: The TV Series, Turner & H***h, The Night House, Polaroid, and the 2022 reboot of Hellraiser. 🎬

In 2021, Eric joined Walt Disney Television Studios as Vice President of Casting for 20th Television before returning to New York City and independent casting at the end of 2025. He is currently casting 9-1-1 Nashville and the upcoming thirteenth season of American Horror Story. 🩵

Casting is part of what makes television so great — and CSA is proud to return to as a longtime supporter of the art of storytelling. 🎬✨

This year, our sponsored panel is “How to Cast a Procedural and Get Away With It” — Saturday, May 30th at 3:15 PM at 800 South Congress. Come talk craft with us!

We are also incredibly proud to celebrate CSA members Sherry Thomas and Sharon Bialy as they are honored with the Inaugural Collaborator Award, recognizing creative partnerships that have made a lasting impact on television.

Together, their 25-year partnership has produced some of the most culturally significant ensembles in the history of the medium — and there is no one more deserving than these two.

Stories entertain. But the right cast makes them unforgettable.

CSA Global Chapter President Cassandra Han joined this year’s EFP Producers on the Move at Cannes for a casting workshop and conversation with some of Europe’s most exciting emerging producers.

The discussion explored how casting functions both creatively and strategically — from attaching talent and navigating international markets to building packages that move projects toward financing and greenlight.

Special thanks to Sonja Heinen, Jo MĂĽhlberger, Olga Martin, and the entire team, and a warm welcome to incoming Managing Director Irina Ignatiew-Lemke as she steps into her new role leading EFP.

A huge thank you to for her tireless work shaping this year’s Cannes program and driving CSA Global’s international festival presence year-round — and to fellow CSA board member for her support.
