CitySquare is preparing for their coats.

It's that time again! We're collecting new and gently used coats for our Winter Coat drive that is being held on Saturday, October 31st from 10am - 1pm at CitySquare.

If you have any donations, please drop them off at our main campus location from 9am - 2pm Monday - Friday.

We are also in need of volunteers who can help us distribute the coats before the weather gets too cold the day of (Oct 31st). If you or your group is interested in helping, please reach out to Rochelle Bass at [email protected] or 903-706-2990. We'll get you home in time for trick-or-treating!

October 12 is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a time to remember history and teach children that no culture is less important or deserving of respect. Children should be curious, celebrate differences, and understand that language, traditions, skin color, or heritage shouldn’t affect how they’re treated. It’s about honoring Indigenous peoples’ cultures, communities, and ongoing contributions. Children aren’t born to hate; let’s teach them to appreciate diversity and raise a generation that doesn’t just tolerate differences.

When a book is taken off the shelf, a student is deprived of a chance to explore. Each of us deserves the opportunity to delve into ideas, question them, and choose the stories that influence who we become.

Please review the traffic control update by the Boys and Girls Club.

The City of Paris recently implemented a traffic control change near the Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley to enhance safety for children entering and exiting the club.

The 1500 block of NE 1st Street is now one-way northbound from E. Hickory St. to E. Center St., with one-way and wrong-way signage in place.

Please make note of this change when driving in the area. Police are monitoring this section of NE 1st in front of the Boys and Girls Club, and drivers going the wrong way may be subject to a fine.

The Nov. 3 midterm election is a little less than a month away; now is the time to check your voter registration status while there is still time to fix any potential issues before the Oct. 5 deadline.
