Before this day comes to an end, I want to take a moment to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you to every single person who took part in this year’s Angelitos en Acción – Don’t Drink and Drive Campaign, especially all the athletes, their families, and friends who joined us this weekend for our Women’s, Men’s, and Coed Volleyball Tournament.
I had the privilege of speaking to everyone for a few minutes and sharing the story and legacy of my daughter, Yarely. Thank you for listening with such respect, kindness, and compassion. It truly means more than words can express.
Back in 2018, we started this tradition with just six coed teams. Eight years later, seeing 21 teams compete across three divisions and nearly 200 people come together for this cause fills my heart with hope.
My greatest wish is that each of you carries this message forward and shares it with others: Don’t Drink and Drive. One decision can save a life.
Every year we welcome new players while many familiar faces return to support this special event. Thank you to everyone who traveled from out of state to be here, and to our incredible volleyball community in Lexington and the surrounding areas. Your support is what makes this event so meaningful.
A very special thank you to the businesses and organizations that help make this event possible every year:
Liga Hispana de Volleyball
Radio Vida KySupermercado Aguascalientes IIYZ Media Alumni Center - Kentucky
THANK YOU for all of your support throughout the weekend.
Thank you to our entire volleyball community for continuing to stand behind this cause.
And last, but certainly not least, thank you to my family for always being by my side. Your love, encouragement, and support are my greatest blessing. None of this would be possible without you.
Now, let’s congratulate our champions!
🏆 Women’s Champions: Les Filles
🏆 Men’s Champions: Volleychuds
🥈 Men’s Silver Winners : Team Dynamites
🏆 Coed Sixes Champions: The Dirty Half Dozen
🥈 Coed Silver Winners : Bandidos
What an incredible weekend of volleyball! We witnessed tough matches, spectacular saves, amazing sets, and powerful kills over two unforgettable days of competition.
I’m sure we’ll see each other on the court again very soon. But for me, it is always especially meaningful when you choose to play while honoring the life of my daughter, Yarely, and helping spread a message that can truly save lives.
Until we meet again at the 2027 Angelitos en Acción Don’t Drink and Drive Tournament…
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️
