We often hear, "well what if my child has a bad reaction to the MMR vaccine?" But what about, "what if my child gets severely ill from measles?"

Both are real concerns from parents. But one is a much greater risk for children.

Most children who get the MMR vaccine have no or only mild side effects. But measles can lead to high fever, spreading rash, pneumonia, swelling of the brain, and even death.

The Edgar County Public Health Department and Dental Clinic is looking for a dynamic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. We offer a positive and upbeat work environment, excellent medical, dental and vision benefits, and a retirement pension with the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
Work Location: In person

Duties include:
▪️Perform dental hygiene preventative care, including routine cleanings, periodontal treatment, radiographs, fluoride, and sealants.
▪️Assess patients' oral health and provide oral hygiene education
▪️Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records
▪️Ensure proper sterilization of instruments

Qualifications:
▪️Hold a valid dental hygiene license for Illinois
▪️Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
▪️Knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health conditions
▪️Proficiency in using dental instruments and equipment
▪️Excellent communication skills to educate and interact with patients
▪️Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with dentists and other dental professionals
