Hey friends and riders, I hope everyone is enjoying summer and doing great. I needed to jump on and let everyone know that, unfortunately, there won't be a Bikers for Abilities ride this August. Sometimes life and time available just get away from us. Thank you again for supporting the ride over the past four years, and to all of you that have helped by donating, registration, selling tickets, setting up and tearing down tables, hauling all the door prizes around, you name it. I love each and everyone of you, and fingers crossed, we can come back next year bigger and better! Until then, stay safe and enjoy some wind therapy every chance you get! 😎

🌟 January Employee of the Month: Stacy Flick 🌟

Some people see a need and wait for someone else to handle it. Stacy Flick is not one of those people.

When Stacy noticed that some of our staff and the individuals we serve were struggling with food insecurity, she didn't file a suggestion or form a committee—she rolled up her sleeves and built a food pantry at our 753 East Court Street location in Paris. From the ground up. On her own initiative.

Thanks to Stacy's heart for service, hundreds of dollars in donations have poured in, and that pantry is now stocked with essentials for anyone who walks through our doors carrying a little extra weight on their shoulders.

That's what it looks like when someone truly lives out the mission of helping others help themselves.

Stacy, your compassion, your determination, and your quiet "I'll just take care of it" spirit are an inspiration to every one of us. We are so fortunate to have you on this team.

Congratulations, and thank you—for seeing the need and becoming the answer. 💙

Update:
As of now, you can drop off items at HRC, 753 E. Court St behind the hospital and Paris Eagles on W. Court St. Reminder, this is not for a holiday meal. This is just for everyday food. Peanut butter, bread, jelly, canned soup, etc. Anything and everything will help. "Fed is best"...we'll take anything ya got! 😎

Riders and friends of Bikers for Abilities....I hope this post finds you well.
I am posting today for a very somber reason.
As you know, we ride and come together for the betterment of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
B4A needs your help again. With the government shutdown, many of our individuals are facing a serious food insecurity from not receiving their snap benefits.
Yes, many do work at HRC in our laundry and janitorial services. But that is just a few hours a day, or couple of days.
Some of the individuals live on their own, some with their families, often elderly parents who just cannot supplement this type of shortage.
With the individuals developmental and intellectual disabilities, they cannot just simplt "figure it out". They need our help.
Bikers for Abilities is working to put a "shelf-stable" food drive together. We will post some drop off locations, as well as a date for an in-person food drive location as soon as I can get a parking lot to use. Hopefully along Jasper Street, to make it easily accessible. In the meantime, keep us in mind, and feel free to reach out if you'd like to donate. We can arrange pick up also. Our goal is canned meat, veggies and boxed food to assure we can store it while we get it dispersed over the next month.
**Should the government open in the next month (unlikely), we will pay any food not needed for our individuals forward to local fiod banks, blessing boxes and the Community Nurse's Christmas Basket drive.**

Riders....I need your help! Can anyone point me in the direction of leather and parts vendors who travel around to swap meets? I'm thinking of adding some pretty cool twists in next years ride to celebrate our 5th year!!!

Congratulations to Ms. Vickie on winning the big money 50/50. Thank you to all who bought tickets. This allows us to get what we need for the ride from flyers, food, extra auction items if needed, etc. And thank you to the Good Lord up above for allowing us to bless someone with the winning half! Her story is not mine to tell. But I can assure you, the timing was perfect once again. 🙏
