Thank you Morris County Government for this honor.

During the Remembering Our Fallen Memorial ceremony this weekend at County College of Morris honoring the service members who gave their lives serving in the Global War on Terrorism, County Commissioners Tayfun Selen and Deb Smith presented a Morris County Resolution of Honor to veteran A.J. Luna, who served in the United States Army and New York Army National Guard from 2000 to 2006, including a 2004 deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II as a member of the 95th Military Police Battalion.

“We owe it to the families of those we lost to remember their names, and we owe it to the veterans who came home to make sure they have the support they need,” said Commissioner Selen. “Over the past two years, Morris County has more than doubled the space at our Veterans Services Office and expanded our staff to four Veterans Services Officers. Each week, a veterans services office is available at the County College of Morris Veterans Resource Center to help veterans and their families access the benefits and services they have earned.”

Luna, co-founder of NJ SOS Veterans Stakeholders Group, played a lead role in coordinating the ceremony on the 25th anniversary of the start of the War on Terror with support from many partners throughout the county and state.

🇺🇸 Remembering Our Fallen — This Weekend at County College of Morris 🇺🇸

HONORING THE FALLEN FROM THE GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM

This weekend, the Remembering Our Fallen Memorial has arrived at County College of Morris (214 Center Grove Road, Randolph, NJ) — and we invite you to pause, reflect, and honor the New Jersey heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The memorial arrived today, September 24th and will be open for public viewing:

- 🕚 Friday, Sept 25th— 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- 🕗 Saturday, Sept 26th— 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- 🕗 Sunday, Sept 27th — 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

This powerful memorial honors our fallen from the Global War on Terrorism — sons and daughters, neighbors and friends who gave everything. Their names deserve to be seen. Their sacrifice deserves to be remembered.

Bring your family. Bring your friends. Come pay your respects and stand in honor of those who stood for us. 🙏

Admission is free and open to the public.

Due to inclement weather in the forecast, the Remembering Our Fallen: Honoring the Fallen from the Global War on Terrorism memorial has been moved indoors to the HPE Gymnasium (near Lot 7) at the County College of Morris.

Public Viewing Hours (Unchanged):

- Friday, September 25: 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

We ask all visitors, volunteers, and participating organizations to plan accordingly and enter through Lot 7 for the most direct access to the gymnasium. On-site signage and volunteers will be available to help direct guests.

Moving the memorial indoors ensures everyone can pay their respects safely and comfortably, regardless of the weather.
