Can you believe they're advertising back to school sales already? Must mean that fall is just around the corners and that means, the Paradise Players Community Theatre fall/winter season is starting!
Our fall production is called The Odd-desy, a parody of Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey. Yeah, yeah, we know -- The Odyssey movie just came out in the theaters, but ya know, there are WAY too many people taking this story/poem/movie/metaphor WAY too seriously. Really folks?!? It's a S-T-O-R-Y!
The way one gets over all the brouhaha and pearl clutching, is to take a deep breath, then make fun of it all.
Which we will.
We'll be having our 1st open house/script reading on August 9th, 2pm at the Paradise Center auditorium. And if you can't make that one, there's a 2nd open house/script reading on August 16th, 2 pm at the Paradise Center.
We're looking for cast & crew for a modern skewering of an old tale. There are various speaking parts. There are various non-speaking parts. There's room in the script for more bad jokes & sight gags.
Want to try some of the technical work? There's room for another person at the light, sound & special effects table. And we'll need stage hands to help with scene changes. And, of course, we're always looking for creative people who can sew, paint, build, etc.
Production dates are Sept 25, 26 & 27, 2026.
Rehearsal schedules are pretty flexible as we know we're all workin' folks. First few weeks of rehearsals are one Sunday afternoons, with the schedule changing to fit needs as we get closer to performance time.
So, stop on in at one (or both) of the open houses in August! (The 9th and/or the 16th) No bronze armor or silly helmets required.
