COLDWATER LAKE TRAIL
Location: Toutle, WA 98649
Trail: Moderate level hike. This Hike is an all day adventure. There is a lot of uphill and downhill hiking on semi established trails, so caution and preparedness will be key. Also the hike is near Mt. St. Helens. The potential for animal spotting and even encounters can happen, so please prepare as you feel.
THIS IS NOT AN ADVISED HIKE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 15. Teens over 15 should be experienced and fit for the hike.
The portion we will be hiking will be approximately 7 miles in and out. It is early spring so expect to encounter wet, cold, slippery, and even snowy conditions. It will be weather dependent on the condition of the hike. Expected time to complete the hike is between 2.5 - 3 hours. We're budgeting 4 hours to account for stops, lunch, and prayer.
Drive time to get there is an hour and 20 minutes from Kelso, WA.
Parking will be covered but there are a limited number of passes, so carpooling is recommended. Parking may be free but there is conflicting information as they have charged in the past.
We'll meet at target, located at 205 three rivers Dr, Kelso, WA 98626 at 8:45 AM to plan out the drive, carpool arrangements, and discuss parking with plans on leaving at 9 AM.
You are responsible for your gear and supplies. We advise water resistant hiking boots/shoes, lightweight rain clothing/backpack, water, and a lunch. A bible wouldn't hurt either
