✨ Mission Statement

Local Vegas Legal Support Association is a Nevada-based nonprofit committed to uplifting our legal support professionals through education, resources, and professional connections that empower their journey in the legal field. In proud partnership with the National Workplace Bullying Coalition, we are leading advocacy efforts to introduce the Dignity At Work Act—legislation de

🌟 Vision Statement

We envision a Nevada where both legal support professionals and workers across all industries thrive in environments that uphold dignity, equity, and respect. By connecting legal professionals to vital tools, resources, and community networks, and pushing for state-level legal reform, we’re raising the bar for how workplaces should operate—with accountability, compassion, and lawful protection from abuse.

From Target to Advocate: Recognizing Workplace Bullying and Documenting Your Experience

If you are experiencing workplace bullying, please know this:

You are not overreacting.
You are not alone.
And you deserve to be heard.

At Local Vegas Legal Support Association, Inc., we support individuals navigating difficult and often isolating workplace environments. One of the most powerful steps you can take is not confrontation—it is documentation.

Documentation is not about retaliation.

It is about preserving your experience with clarity, accuracy, and purpose.

Here are 5 essential elements to begin documenting:

✔ Dates & Times
Identify when incidents occur. Patterns often tell the full story.

✔ What Was Said or Done
Capture the facts as clearly and objectively as possible.

✔ Who Was Involved or Witnessed It
Include names, roles, and anyone present.

✔ Impact on Your Work or Well-Being
Note any changes in responsibilities, performance, stress levels, or overall well-being.

✔ Your Response (if any)
Whether you addressed it, reported it, or chose not to respond—document it.

Organized documentation can support:

• internal workplace complaints
• requests for reasonable accommodations
• facilitated or mediated conversations
• informed decision-making about next steps

When your experience is documented, your voice becomes structured, credible, and supported.

At LVLSA, we believe in empowering individuals with tools that help them move from feeling targeted… to becoming informed advocates for themselves.

If this speaks to you, start with one step today:

📌 Write down one incident—factually, clearly, and completely.

Your story matters. Your experience matters. And there is strength in being prepared.

Are you a in Nevada? Are you compliant?

📝 Assembly Bill 72 (AB 72) – Key Provisions
1. Bonding Requirements for Multiple Entities

📌New Bonding Structure: Registrants performing document preparation services under multiple business entities must now file a separate bond for each entity. The bond amounts are tiered based on the number of entities:

$25,000 for 1 entity
$50,000 for 2–4 entities
$100,000 for 5–10 entities
$200,000 for more than 10 entities

📌This change ensures that each entity is individually accountable, enhancing consumer protection
Nevada Legislature

2. Amended Registration Requirements

📌Disclosure of Business Entities: Applicants must provide a list of each business entity or sole proprietorship under which they intend to perform document preparation services during the following calendar year.

📌Proof of Bond Coverage: For each listed entity, proof that the required bond has been filed is now mandatory
Nevada Legislature

3. Suspension of Registration

📌Automatic Suspension: A registrant's registration is automatically suspended if they are no longer covered by a bond or if the penal sum of the bond is exhausted. The Secretary of State will notify the registrant in writing of such suspension
Nevada Legislature

4. Confidentiality of Investigative Documents

📌Confidential Investigations: Information and documents obtained during an investigation of a document preparation service are now confidential, providing an added layer of privacy during regulatory reviews.

📜 NRS 240A – Recent Amendments
1. Amended Registration (NRS 240A.113)

📌Mandatory Updates: Registrants are required to submit an amended registration within 30 days of any change in mailing address, county of residence, place of business, or employment. Failure to do so may result in suspension of registration.

2. Advertising and Representation (NRS 240A.150)

📌Clear Disclaimers: All advertisements must include a statement that the registrant is not an attorney and is prohibited from providing legal advice or representation. Non-compliance may lead to suspension or revocation of registration

3. Penalties for Violations (NRS 240A.270 & NRS 240A.290)

📌Enhanced Penalties: The Secretary of State may deny, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew the registration of any person who violates provisions of this chapter. For willful violations, civil penalties may be imposed, and the Attorney General or a district attorney may commence civil or criminal actions

📌 Action Steps for Document Preparation Services

To ensure compliance with these updates:

📌Review and Update Bonds: Assess the number of entities under which you operate and adjust your bonding arrangements accordingly.

📌Amend Registration Information: Notify the Secretary of State of any changes in your business details within the specified 30-day period.

📌Update Advertising Materials: Ensure all advertisements include the required disclaimers to avoid potential penalties.

📌Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of all business activities and communications to facilitate compliance and respond to any inquiries.
