Yes, Virginia, there will be a Cracked Bell this season! This Open Bonspiel finally returns after a two-year break. Join us Friday, Jan 6, through Sunday, Jan 8, for the best ice PCC has had in years, maybe ever, outstanding food, and curling friends old and new. Registration opens Monday, Nov 7, at 9am EST, and closes Friday, Nov 18, at 6pm. This season, we're trying something other than the mad scramble for the early reg timestamps. If your FULL team is entered before registration closes, you'll be part of a lottery to see who plays. We'll start with three teams per club (you tell us what your club is) and add more if needed to fill the draw. All the info is here:

A Statement from the Board of the Philadelphia Curling Club

The Board of Directors and members of the Philadelphia Curling Club stand in union with our fellow curling clubs in calling for the immediate removal of USA Curling (USAC) CEO Jeff Plush.

In addition, we loudly protest USAC’s continuing inability to communicate transparently. We implore the Boards of both USAC and USWCA to explain exactly how they justify their respective positions in regards to this scandal.

Continued support for CEO Plush is unacceptable, after he has been shown by the recently released Yates investigation to have failed to address reports of systemic sexual harassment and even enabled the continuation of abuse against athletes while he was Commissioner of the National Women's Soccer League. His failure deepened further when he declined to participate in the investigation.

The striking disconnect between the Yates findings and the USAC stance is an affront to those you were elected to serve and frightening to past and potential future victims of abuse.

We also stand in support of others' requests, including USA Curling's own Taskforce on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, for the reinvestigation of any Safe Sport complaints made during Plush's tenure as CEO.

On behalf of our Membership,

John Gillespie, President
Ryan Green, Vice-President
Bryan Beck, Secretary
Pam Stephani, Treasurer
Ian Alexander
Cody Clouser
Brian Dudt
Laura Hallisey

Next up for our club is figuring out how and when to re-open. Clubs are doing this differently all over the country, so we need to make sure our approach makes sense for our club. Individual members might differ and that's definitely okay. We can't make a decision until we see what case loads are like in late summer, but having some ideas about process ahead of time will be helpful. What are your thoughts?
