The Paola Rotary Club weekly meeting includes singing, luncheon, and a program or speaker with presentations on items of interest to our membership. Members take turns hosting programs and speakers. Some of the notable guests this past year have included Kansas Congressman Jim Ryun, Kansas State Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger, and University of Kansas Athletic Director Lew Perkins. Current Local Projects:
-Sponsor of the Miami County Fair Parade since 1949
-Luncheon for the Workers at the Miami County Fair
-Steak dinner for area farmers and ranchers at the annual Rotary Farmers Night in October. Financial support for:
-Little League
-Boys and Girls State
-Youth Friends
-Boy Scouts
-Big Brothers/Big Sisters
-Senior Citizens Center
-Life Line
-Sponsor local high school students to Rotary Youth Leadership Camp
-Other local projects and organizational support
Current International Service projects include:
-Sponsoring Club for outgoing Foreign Exchange Students (avg 1 per yr)
-Sponsoring Club for incoming Foreign Exchange Students (avg 1 every other year)
