Do you have plans Saturday night? Friends of the Mentally Ill Foundation, Inc. is holding their music bingo in Paola at the Fairgrounds (event has been moved from building 4 to building 2)!!! You will have a GREAT time and support a wonderful cause!!!

The Friends of the Mentally Ill Foundation, Inc. started a fund with the Miami County Community Foundation to the help push their mission forward. Their mission is to support the patients at Osawatomie State Hospital! Most of these patients arrive with just the clothes on their back. This group works to make their stay at the Osawatomie State Hospital a positive experience and help them get back on their feet.

Are you 73 or older and have an IRA? Did you know if you give your RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) to a 501c3 that it will help your taxable income?

Or are you 70 1/2 years old and need to take your QCD? Same applies!!!

If your RMD/QCD is sent directly to a 501c3, it counts towards your minimum distribution and never enters your taxable income.

Lower income means less of your social security gets taxed and keeps you below Medicare surcharge lines (where applicable).

Miami County Community Foundation is a 501c3 organization that can take your RMD and put it to great work in our community.

If you are in city government, chamber directors, economic development and/or any individual who wants to do something to make your community better, this is a great organization to get involved with to help the process along. Walking together for hope. 👟💙

A big high-five to everyone who laced up their sneakers and joined us at the Flint Hills Trail in Osawatomie for the Stomp Out Su***de (SOS) 5K Walk/Run!

Seeing our community come together to step onto the trail, honor loved ones, and break the silence surrounding mental health in honor of Joshua, Brain and Debbie McQuay’s son, was a powerful way of turning tragedy into a beacon of hope for Miami County.

Thanks to your participation, SOS can continue its vital work equipping local schools across Miami and Linn counties with critical su***de prevention training and early-intervention mental health resources!

What an unforgettable night on Match Day 2026! 🎹

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us at Town Square Events on Saturday, September 26th! From the high-energy Dueling Pianos performances by Max Cooper and Kevin C**n to the mouthwatering barbecue from Paola's BBQ Shack, the atmosphere was packed with community spirit, lively bidding, and non-stop fun.

Most importantly, your generosity directly fuels vital community programs, non-profits, and local initiatives across Miami County. Thanks to your support, and the extraordinary matching support of the Patterson Family Foundation, we made a massive impact together!

C***rfest wraps up its final weekend, and it is the perfect way to kick off October with your family and friends. Here are the details for this weekend's fun:

🗓️ Date: Saturday, Oct 3 & Sunday, Oct 4
⏰ Time: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
📍 Location: Louisburg C***r Mill, 14730 K-68 Hwy, Louisburg, KS
