"Wait, I'm HOW old?"
Happy 9th birthday to my favorite boy! The oldest and the last of the original crop. Stephen was one of 5 born here to Adagio and Charlie. He was raised by both his mommy Adagio and auntie Sonata (his "grey mommy"), since she had a stillborn the next day and Adagio didn't know what to do with her babies, at first. They all ended up getting soooo much milk from both mommies.
Sadly, Stephen's 3 brothers and twin sister died of a parasite in their 3rd month. We got the correct diagnosis and meds just in time to save Stephen. His grey mommy died of a gut obstruction on his first birthday. His white mommy died 4 years ago.
He spent most of his life partnered with his auntie Aria (black lionhead). She also made it to her 9th birthday, this last May, and died a couple months later. Stephen is now with Barry's ex-wife Alice. They're very happy together.
Stephen has lately been getting very frail. Oftentimes, bunnies are super youthful up until their last months. Within the past month, Stephen has been going lame in his hind legs, which is frustrating to him, but he's still in good spirits and making the most of it. We'll take whatever we can get. 😊
