NC CTO Swan Hunt will be here before you know it, don’t forget to apply for your swan permit!🦢

Each year, NC CTO hosts a swan hunt in Washington, Tyrrell, Hyde, or Beaufort County, depending on where the birds are. We also have an oyster roast the night before at the Maritime Museum in Plymouth. Dates have not been set yet, but it is typically held around New Year’s.

The deadline to apply for a swan permit is September 1. You can apply through the NC Wildlife App or the NC Wildlife Licensing Portal.

If your child does not have their own hunting license, they will need to join a party with a licensed hunter. If you aren’t planning to hunt with your child, we should have parties available to add them to. Parents are typically welcome to hunt as well.

Swan permits are a luck-of-the-draw tag, so they are not guaranteed.

⛰️ West Virginia Adventure Recap ⛰️

Two of our Cross Trail Outfitters members, Michael and Christian, recently traveled to the beautiful mountains of West Virginia for a week full of adventure, fellowship, and faith.

During their time at Snowshoe Campground, they experienced the wild and wonderful outdoors while building memories, learning new skills, and growing in their walk with Christ.

The trip was filled with many adventures. From exploring God’s creation to strengthening friendships, every activity provided an opportunity to learn, grow, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

A special thank you to our outfitters, Pete Monico, Josh East, Jesse Lee, and Jason Mitchell, for pouring into the next generation of outdoorsmen and helping make this experience possible.

Christian shared that he enjoyed getting to play golf and especially appreciated the cooler temperatures in the West Virginia mountains. Michael enjoyed playing golf as well, along with reading the Bible with a new friend. He also loved getting to watch Christian experience Cross Trail Outfitters and see firsthand what this ministry is all about.

We are thankful for the memories made, the lessons learned, and the reminder that every adventure is an opportunity to point toward Jesus.

Family Fishing Day 🎣

Days like these remind us that some of life’s greatest lessons are learned on the water, where patience, fellowship, and God’s creation all come together.

There’s something special about watching one generation pass down a love for the outdoors to the next. 🎣

Our Family Fishing Day was filled with laughs, learning, and memories made on the pond. From baiting hooks to celebrating every catch, it was a day that reminded us why we do what we do… guiding the next generation to Christ through the outdoors.

Thank you to the families who came out and made the day so special! More photos will be posted soon, so keep an eye on our page. We can’t wait to share more of these moments with you!

Michael had a great time at the Arkansas White River CTO Fly Fishing Camp, where he learned how to tie flies, improved his casting skills, and spent time fishing in several creeks and rivers. The camp also included primitive archery and rifle shooting. During the week, he caught a grass carp, several rainbow trout, and a beautiful 20-inch brown trout. It was a fun week of learning new skills, sharpening old ones, enjoying the outdoors, and making lasting memories.
