Last week, Bay Ed had the pleasure of attending and helping unveil Callaway Elementary School's newly transformed STEM Lab. Made possible through a generous $50,000 grant from the NextEra Energy Foundation and Florida Power & Light, this incredible space gives students new opportunities to design, build, experiment and discover through hands-on learning.

What we love about these types of projects, is a student may walk into this room simply excited to try something new. What they discover here could spark an interest, uncover a talent or even influence the path they choose years from now. That’s the importance and power of creating opportunities for students.

Bay Ed is grateful to be part of this incredible project and proud to work alongside partners investing in the potential of Bay County students.

Thank you again to Florida Power & Light for this tremendous gift.

Learning beyond the classroom! 🎓✨
Our Take Stock in Children students got a behind-the-scenes look at Bay County during their latest college and career readiness workshop!
Students toured the Bay County Traffic Management Center, where they got an incredible look at the technology helping keep our community moving — including two stories of screens displaying live traffic from across Bay County! They learned how traffic is monitored and managed in real time and got a peek at careers they may not have even known existed. Then heard from Bay County Tax Collector, Chuck Perdue, who shared his own career path and talked about bringing innovation to the Tax Collector’s Office. And, of course, they had to do a little shopping for their future Florida license plates! 🚗😄
The day also included a behind-the-scenes tour of the Bay County Public Library , where students explored historical displays, browsed the shelves and learned about the many FREE resources available to them through our local library. 📚
These experiences are what Take Stock is all about: helping students discover opportunities, explore careers and connect with the community around them.
A big Apple Applause 🍎👏 to our Bay County partners and everyone who took the time to welcome our students, share their expertise and give them a look behind the scenes!

Fall was definitely in the house at First Friday! 🍎🍂
Bay Education Foundation loved spending the morning in the rotunda at the Bay County Chamber of Commerce First Friday, connecting with fellow Chamber members and sharing the many ways Bay Ed is supporting students, educators, and public education throughout our community.
And because we believe in committing to a theme, we went full apple. 🍎😂
We’re always grateful for opportunities to connect with the people and organizations that make Bay County such a strong community and to share how, together, we’re creating opportunities for students and educators to thrive.
Thanks to the Bay County Chamber for another great First Friday!

Education is the foundation of a strong community and it touches everyone, whether or not you have a child in school.

Bay Ed Executive Director Aimee Bright joined fellow nonprofit leaders at Idea Camp for “Give Back, Grow Forward,” a conversation about employee volunteerism and the power of business-community partnerships.

Thank you to the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce for bringing us together to explore how we can give back and grow forward.
