Get ready for an exciting season of creativity, imagination, and hands-on fun. We have a fantastic lineup of projects designed to challenge, inspire, and help our young artists explore their creative side.

There’s still time to join the fun! Each week features new and unique projects, so campers can sign up for multiple weeks and enjoy fresh creative experiences every time they attend.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: Angela Castagnola

Having taught all kinds of creative workshops for decades, Angela has also been a business owner, as well as a professional showing artist around some of the world. From Seattle, Portland and Palm Springs to the Virgin Islands, Denmark and Argentina, and from 6-year-olds to titans of technology, industry and sciences, Angela Castagnola has led and coached others to have fun with, enjoy, find their voice and COMPLETE their creative projects! Whether visual arts, business, musical projects, book projects, film projects or you-name-it, Angela has guided creatives (and those who didn’t think they were creative) to understand the importance of art in our souls and our culture.

Just having moved to Panama City with her husband, two dogs and two cats, Angela is excited to be a part of the beautiful and vibrant community of Bay County!

“Guiding a group to create very unique and individual works of art is my goal; celebrating with well-edited and completed creations is my delight!”

Our next Creator's Quest series begins Thursday, June 11. Ready to begin? Save your spot now at https://bayarts.square.site

Whether you’re discovering a new hobby, learning a new skill, or simply looking for a creative way to connect with your loved one, Jaweria is there every step of the way to guide you through the art of wheel throwing. We've seen students leave feeling accomplished, inspired, and eager to keep creating, so we asked the artist herself to reflect on the impact teaching has had on her own journey:

“For the past six years, teaching pottery at the Panama City Center for the Arts has been one of the most meaningful parts of my life. What began as an opportunity to share my passion for ceramics has grown into a source of personal growth and genuine connection. The Center has provided a creative home where I have been able to evolve not only as an artist, but also as an educator. Watching individuals experience pottery for the first time—and seeing how art can foster comfort, self-expression, and joy—has been deeply rewarding.”

Artists like Jaweria make our programs truly special, reminding us that art isn’t decoration—it’s infrastructure. It builds confidence, connection, and community in ways that stay with people long after they leave the studio. Thank you, Jaweria, for being part of our story and for helping so many students shape meaningful memories—both on and off the wheel.

Here’s a story that’ll cheer you up on this gloomy day.

Natalie was just about to load our kiln at the Panama City Center for the Arts and found this little fledgling trapped in the vent!

Natalie could not proceed without the bird being harmed, and when its chirping turned to cries for help, Joe and Damien with the City of Panama City swooped in to save the little fledgling—And repaired the vent so it won’t happen again.

Luckily the baby bird was reunited with mama who was nested very close by—and had lunch waiting for him!

For more than two decades, Bay Arts Alliance’s Monthly Arts Luncheon has served as a gathering table for our local creative community.

What began as a simple shared lunch has grown into an important space where artists, arts organizations, educators, and creative leaders come together to connect, collaborate, and discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the arts in our region.

We would love for you to join us for this month’s luncheon:

📍 Panama City Center for the Arts
đź“… Wednesday, May 13
⏰ Noon

This is a potluck-style lunch, with Bay Arts Alliance providing the main course. Guests are encouraged (but not required!) to bring a side dish, dessert, or drink to share.

Whether you represent an arts organization, work as an independent artist, or simply care deeply about the future of the arts in Bay County, there is a seat at the table for you.

Because strong arts communities are built one conversation at a time.
