Since March of 2000, the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (Gulf Coast CAC) has transformed the lives of victims of child abuse and sexual violence by offering a refuge for victims and their families to cope with the terrible crimes.

Strong partnerships with local law enforcement help us bring best practices, continued education, and valuable training to the professionals working to protect children in our communities. We are grateful to the law enforcement leaders who recognize the importance of giving their teams opportunities to strengthen their skills and grow in their work.

Teaching children how to use their voice is an important part of body safety education. Practicing phrases like "Stop! Don't touch me!" helps children build confidence, understand healthy boundaries, and know it's okay to speak up when something doesn't feel right.

These lessons are taught in age-appropriate, empowering ways that encourage children to trust their instincts and seek out a safe adult if they ever need help. Giving children the words and confidence to advocate for themselves is one more way we can help keep them safe.

Behind every successful community event is an incredible group of people willing to give their time, energy, and heart. We are so thankful to the many volunteers who helped throughout the Bay Point Billfish Open and to John Warren and George Roberts for once again giving Gulf Coast Children's Advocacy Center the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event.

Helping children understand that what they share online can have a lasting impact is an important part of digital safety. It's also important to talk about the information photos can unintentionally reveal, such as school logos, sports uniforms, locations, or other details that could identify where they spend their time.

Regular conversations about online permanence and thoughtful sharing can help children make informed choices while protecting their privacy and personal safety. Building these habits early gives them valuable tools they can carry with them as they grow.

We are incredibly thankful to Rivertown Community Church and its Marianna, Blountstown, and Chipley campuses for choosing Gulf Coast Children's Advocacy Center as their 4 for Charity Giving partner in May.

Thanks to their generosity, they not only helped meet some of our greatest daily needs but also raised more than $16,000 to support the children and families we serve. Thank you for being such an incredible community partner and for faithfully serving as the hands and feet of Jesus. We are truly blessed by your support.

Children thrive when they are surrounded by people who care, pay attention, and are willing to step in when help is needed. Building a safe community means creating environments where children feel supported, families have access to resources, and prevention remains a shared priority.

When neighbors, educators, community leaders, organizations, and families work together, we create a stronger network of support for the children who depend on us. Every effort matters, and every child deserves that protection.
