Panama  City-SAR The Panama City Chapter is one of the chapters that make up the Florida Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Est. 1973

On May 8, 2026, the City of Pensacola celebrated the legacy of legacy of General Bernardo de Gálvez. The celebration included a march from the Daughters and Sons of the American Revolution, a ceremony held in front of the Gálvez statue at Palafox and Wright Streets, and a Te Deum Mass at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel.

Among those in attendance were Bishop William A. Wack, CSC, Mayor D.C. Reeves of Pensacola, and Mayor Antonio Campos of Macharaviaya, Spain (Gálvez's hometown).

As of today, Fort Frederica National Monument is open to pedestrian visitation. Thursday, November 13th and Friday, November 14th, the Visitor Center will remain closed as we swiftly but safely restore full access.
On Saturday, November 15th, we anticipate the Visitor Center, gates, grounds, and trails will be open regular hours to the public.
