Who can participate?

Education Encore is offered by Corporate College at Gulf Coast State College and provides non-credit enrichment education classes on a variety of topics for active and senior adults. Education Encore is offered by The Center for Business, Continuing, and Community Education at Gulf Coast Community College and provides non-credit enrichment classes for active adults on a variety of topics. Since 1991, Education Encore has been operated on a volunteer basis by the Education Encore Advisory Council. The council supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum. Education Encore is for adults. Participants are not required to have Florida residency. When is it offered? Education Encore is offered during the fall and spring semesters. Classes in each semester meet once a week for six consecutive weeks. The day of the week depends on which campus you choose to attend. What is the cost? The fee for participants at the Panama City Campus is $80 for the six-week program, which includes four classes each Friday. The fee for participants at the Gulf/Franklin Center is $60, which includes three classes each Wednesday. What a privilege it was to welcome members of our local judiciary to Education Encore for today’s Lunch & Learn!

I am incredibly grateful to Chief Judge Christopher Patterson, Circuit Judge Dustin Stephenson, Circuit Judge Russell Roberts, Circuit Judge Devin Collier, and Bay County Judge Tracey Smith for taking time out of their busy schedules to spend the afternoon with us.

Their willingness to show up, share their experiences, answer questions, and engage with our Education Encore participants made for such a meaningful afternoon. I truly appreciate their generosity with their time and their commitment to our community.

One of my favorite things about Education Encore is bringing people together to learn, connect, and have conversations we might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience. Today was a wonderful example of exactly that.

Public Reservations are Now Open

An exquisite culinary journey awaits at Gulf Coast State College. Public reservations are now open for the Fall 2026 Cuisines of the World Lunch Series: Island Nations, thoughtfully prepared and served by our student chefs in the John Holley Dining Room.

This season, indulge in a refined four-course menu—featuring an appetizer, soup or salad, entrée, and dessert—inspired by the iconic Island Nations.

Pricing: $100 per table of four guests (parties larger than four cannot be accommodated)
