This is pastor Phyllis Grier. She is pastor of Goshen evangelical. The bus behind her is used to transport people and food. I'm very thankful to know her. She has become a mentor for me and an inspiration to do more for those who are truly in need.

Alonzo gave me permission to talk about his situation. He told me he chooses to live on the streets instead of living with his family. He is a very kind and humble man. Yesterday he asked me to help him to make a difference in the lives of " his brothers on the streets ". I'm not sure what lead to him being homeless but if a NFL player can end up on the streets then anyone can.

There are many different reasons a person might end up homeless.
This is Fred, he lost both his legs due to complications from diabetes.
I doubt the plate of food we gave him today will alter his situation but it will keep him going until something does.
Hope and despair are both like fire. They can start with just a spark and grow into something that takes over. I pray that the spark of hope we gave Fred and the other dozen people we ministered to today will spread into a blazing fire that cannot be put out!! AMEN

In the gospel of John is the story of Jesus turning the water into wine. When given the wine the host of the gathering said" you saved the best wine for last"
Jesus didn't just turn the water into wine but into the best wine. When we are in need God gives us more than we need, better than we could have done or expected.
Ephiesains 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen

I'm proud to be a resident of bay county Florida. In the past year the people of this community have pooled their time and resources to rebuild their town. Unfortunately, a small group of people in bay county missed out on the 850 strong movement. The majority of outreach programs for the very poor are funded by and through the churches of our county. The hurricane damaged or destroyed close to half the churches here. Many of these churches and members had no choice but to use their limited resources to rebuild their facilities and their own homes. People have simply not had the time or money to give extra because there was no extra to give. On almost any given day before the hurricane, you would find church groups downtown ministering to the homeless. To my knowledge today there are 2 churches that still minister downtown. They alternate with each other every other Sunday. My prayer is that as the people of our community finish their rebuilding that they return to the great work they were doing before the storm. God bless Bay county Florida!!!

"When you did it for the least of mine you did it for me"
We are trying to provide food, clothing, and necessitates for the homeless of bay county.
We believe there are people on the streets who don't want to be there. Some of these people could change their life if they were given some hope. God has the power to change hearts.
