Troop 321- Lynn Haven

Troop 321- Lynn Haven Troop 321-B Lynn Haven meets on Tuesdays from 6:30-8 pm at our Scout Hut, located at 4501 Willow Hill Rd.

The Troop occasionally meets at Lynn Haven Methodist Church, located at 3203 Minnesota Avenue, Lynn Haven, Florida. Scouting Is Adventure, Family, Fun, Character, Leadership and So Much More! At Troop 321, both boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

💪 The Equipment Shed is looksmaxxing

Enormous thank-yous to everyone who came out last Saturday to prep, organize, insulate, and put the interior ceiling back into our equipment shed. All this hard work will make our Troop and Cub Pack's equipment last YEARS longer and give us more space. It was a long, sweaty day, but it was worth it!

Looking forward to our first meeting Tuesday ⚜️

🦝 Assistant Scoutmaster Jimothy was able to call into the Boys' Troop's annual planning meeting via Zoom. He shared several excellent ideas and no fleas.

Many thanks to our host, United With Christ Panama City, for providing a space for the Senior Scouts and for their commitment to helping our community become a vibrant place of growth and connection together!

Thank you Lynn Haven Methodist Church for partnering with our Cub Pack to host this event!

⚜️ A Scout is Reverent: faithful in their religious beliefs, respectful of the beliefs of others, and grateful for the wonder of the natural world.

⭐ "There's a new sheriff in town, so y'all better play it cool..."

Russell Iseminger has officially taken on the mantle of Scoutmaster for our boys' troop 🥳
Russell is a graduate of the Air Force Academy, a colonel in the National Guard, and the dad of four awesome kids (and one terribly handsome Golden Retriever). His lovely wife Claire is one of the sweetest and most enthusiastic homeschool moms out there and a driving force behind Homeschool 101 Panama City . We could not have asked for a better adult leader to step into this position!

A troop's Scoutmaster

🎯 Serves as a positive role model who brings Scouting’s core aims—character development, citizenship training, leadership development, and personal fitness— to life, helping youth integrate the Scout Oath and Law into their daily lives

🎯 Helps Scouts set goals, navigate challenging adventures, and reflect on their growth and leadership through their Scouting journey this year

🎯 Provides our young men with the skills and tools to run the troop themselves, helping them build confidence and practical management skills

🎯 Challenges our Scouts' belief that a can of Axe body spray is a perfectly acceptable substitute for taking at least one shower during a week-long summer camp

Out of the twenty-six astronauts who went to the moon, twenty-two were Scouts. 11 of the 12 astronauts who stepped foot on the moon had earned Scouting's highest rank, Eagle. Neil Armstrong carried a World Scout Membership Badge with him onto the lunar surface during the Apollo 11 mission.

Zoom out and look at the United States' astronaut program since its beginning, and you'll see that roughly two-thirds of all individuals selected as NASA astronauts were involved in Scouting. That's almost 400 pilots and scientist astronauts who have been Scouts, at least 43 of whom had earned the rank of Eagle. (At least 27 had proudly scouted with the Girl Scouts of the USA 🍀)

Nearly half a million Scouts have earned the Space Exploration Merit Badge since it launched (sorry, I had to!) in 1965. That means nearly 500,000 young people who have

🚀 built, launched, and recovered a model rocket
🚀 designed an earth-orbiting space station
🚀 learned how satellites stay in orbit
and more as they worked to earn their Merit Badge.

Scouting’s influence on America's space program is woven into its past and will help build its future. Scout on!

It's Environmental Science Merit Badge time! Today scouts from our area are exploring the ecology of Spanish Trail Scout Reservation , learning about drought, erosion, animal habitats, invasive species (hello, fire ants!), how plants are pollinated, and career opportunities in environmental science like fishery management, forestry, zoology, and environmental engineering.

Also, I have finally unlocked the key to getting Sam to smile for pictures: yell nonsense words in my best Will Ferrell voice until he cracks 😇😂

Scouting prepares you for life, challenges you to take on new adventures, and introduces you to career paths that serve the greater good - like Wildland Fire Management, Scouting's newest merit badge!

Over 77,000 wildfires burned across more than 5 million acres in the US just last year. There's a growing need for brave young men and women looking to work outdoors in a vocation that will challenge them physically and mentally.

Scouts who earn the Wildland Fire Management badge will get hands-on experience alongside wildfire experts through interactive activities and demonstrations. They'll learn about wildfire behavior, fire ecology, prevention, emergency preparedness, firefighting careers, and more.

Developed in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Department of the Interior, and the Society of American Foresters, this merit badge offers an experience Scouts won't find anywhere else.
