Gulf Winds Triathletes

Gulf Winds Triathletes Gulf Winds Triathletes is a social club dedicated to promoting multi-sport activities in the Tallahassee area. It is usually over before 8:00 p.m.

Gulf Winds Triathletes, formerly known as "The Gulf Winds Triathlon Club" and informally called "the Tri Club," was officially formed in 1998. Its roots, though, trace back to several other triathlon clubs that have come and gone in Tallahassee since the late 1980s. In 1999, the club became part of the Gulf Winds Track Club. Both clubs are governed by a separate Board of Directors, elected by eac

h club's members. Gulf Winds Track Club operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and, as part of the Track Club, the Tri Club does too. Members of the Tri Club are also members of the Gulf Winds Track Club. As of December 31, 2014, the Tri Club had 353 members. Our members' ages range from 5 to 79, with both of those members actively competing in triathlons. Like many triathlon clubs, some of us were swimmers first, some cyclists, some runners. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, encouraging environment where everyone can learn something from everyone else. We have USA Triathlon All-American elite-level members (including a few who are fast enough to turn pro if they wanted), fast age-groupers, middle-of-the-pack finishers, tail-end champions, and what-the-heck-did-I-sign-up-for first-timers who keep coming back for more. The club meets the third Monday of every month (except December) at Momo's Pizza, 1410 Market Street, Tallahassee, Florida. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. Most meetings feature speakers dispersing wisdom and experiences on triathlon related topics. Come join us at the next meeting! First-timers and curious onlookers are always welcome.

We are very excited to announce that Gulf Winds Triathletes has secured a date for the 2026 St. Marks Duathlon (March 15, 2026) and race registration is now live!
If you are unfamiliar with the duathlon format, it's run-bike-run, and at this particular race, the distances are as follows:
5K (3.1 miles)
20K (12.4 miles)
2.5K (1.55 miles)
In addition to regular age groups, there is also a fat tire division (so you could use a gravel, mountain, or utility bike) and a relay division (where you team up with a few friends to complete different legs of the race).
